Helmet edit

Maybe a different model of helmet, but I absolutely DO NOT support any sort of color change, uniform or logo redesign. I've seen nothing but tacky ideas from fans, and hope our front office have NO part of it.

No franchises used to try alternate colors/schemes, but it wasn't because it prevented success. It just hadn't become a thing until recently. Now many of the big boy franchises use them.
 
The red jersey is really cool and makes the uniform pop. The blue on blue is dull to me. If I could change anything about the Texans uniform I would make the red the official jersey. Other than that, nothing unless they got the rights back to the Oilers name and uniform (which would ever happen and McNair wouldn't want anyway).
 
Seeing as this thread is sorely lacking in it's very own concept, how 'bout some helmet edit ideas?

The one second from the bottom is pretty close to the one I saw - It had a bit more red extending to the top and the logo was a bit bigger.
Both look good though.
 
I vote to keep the helmet colors as they are. The red or white just seem tacky! The deep steel blue uniform looks best, in my opinion. I hated the ketchup bottle look with the blue helmet. Just didn't match and looked stupid. Kinda like the Giants or 49ers color rush uniforms with completely different color helmets, just disgusting.
 
I've always wanted to change the helmet to Dark Gray Fine Metallic with current logo but have come to terms that something this radical would never see the light of day. Since teams can no longer change their actual game day helmet, I thought it would be pretty unique to have 3 types of team colored face mask. Steel Blue: Home and Road / Battle Red for Battle red games and Dark Gray for Liberty White games. With the right shading on the perimeter of the logo, it would like like the helmet was molded with a raised logo. Very cool possibility but with that and some reality...

1. I'd like to see the Texans eliminate their white pants at home, except for Liberty White games.

2. Steel Blue pants for the home uniform = much more menacing look. Every home game is a Steel Blue game except for Liberty White and Battle Red games.

3. Steel Blue pants with the Battle Red jerseys. No more Battle Red pants for the complete ketchup bottle look. Oh, the team must never match the Battle Red jersey with the white pants...never.

4. One of the best uniforms in the NFL are the Texans road uniforms...this look will never need an update.

You couldn't have said it any better. Only Deep Steel Blue pants ( Except for Liberty White game. ) and then just wear Battle Red jerseys at home and Liberty White jerseys for away games. I really hate to use the Cowboys as an example, but they just wear Silver pants and just alternate their white and blue jerseys. The Packers just wear yellow pants and green jerseys at home and white jerseys for away games.
I actually sent an e-mail to the Texans website suggesting this idea and they did answer saying they would forward it to the appropriate department.
I hope they weren't just jerking me around.
 
No homo (not that it matters) but I would dig any number of red, white and blue interchangeable uniforms along with helmet changes. (Especially white)

I cannot fathom why the NFL rules commission deemed that these billion dollar franchises with their separately owned teams and individual choices being their own in said uniforms are only allowed ONE ******* HELMET.

Someone explain the reasoning behind that necessity.. please.

I think it's because some idjit (or group of idjits) decided that fans identify with teams helmets and changing helmets mid stream would be too confusing to the masses and incur lesser fandom
 
I had to throw this out there....did anyone else have an opportunity to see the uniforms Baylor wore last night against Oklahoma? Hands down, probably one of the best looking football uniforms worn at any level.

In all fun....it could be very cool if the Texans incorporated a similar scheme for a Thursday Night Game. Flat Back Helmet, Gold Chrome Bull Logo Outline, and Dark Metallic Gray over the Star Portion of Logo. It would be a sinister look....yeah, I know that teams cannot change helmets during the season but it would be cool.

At one time, Texas was only known for its oil...Black Gold....Texas Tea. So it wouldn't be totally inappropriate if the Texans were Black and Gold. But in all reality, I like the current look. I thought the Oilers had a special and cool look as well. This idea was just for a "Sinister Look" only concept.
 
Just an aside comment........last week, the dark red names on the back of our dark blue unis were almost unintelligible...especially the long the name with the smaller letters.
