Just saw on ESPN. One year deal to Washington.
So, are the Redskins "Houston North" now?
Lil Shanny taking them away from us. Think we will go for another QB somewhere? There's a couple out there on the FA market.
if at all possible, I'd rather see them pick up someone in free agency (if they are worth it) than use a draft pick to get one.
I would be more in favor of picking up a FA as well, unless someone great fell in the draft.
We still have DanO.
And we are inclined to draft a late round one most years.
I figure we will avoid the FA market.
Now if we can just dump Chris Brown...
Rex Grossman has signed a one-year deal with the Redskins to play for former OC Kyle Shanahan. Dan Orlovsky is now the #2 QB for the Texans.
He's a UFA, as was Grossman. No need to dump him
why does everyone hate Grossman so much? For what he was, and making league minimum, he wasn't so bad. How much better is a late round draft choice or some other washed up QB gonna be? Hell, he was good enough to beat out DanO for the 2nd string job.
Well that seriously sucks. Hope Schaub can continue to stay healthy....
I don't think so. There is:
and Denver South East
I think Big Shanny will probably only coach a short period and hand the reigns over to Little Shanny. Since Big Shanny came out of retirement and Little Shanny came from Denver South (not Houston) then the Redskins have become a spin-off of us. Because of that, I don't think it can be Houston North or Houston East but rather Denver South North or Denver South East.
We need a back up man. I've been saying this for a while. I knew Rex was going to leave at the first sign of him being able to start somewhere else. The Redskins give him a better opportunity than Houston does right now especially after the season Schaub had.
I feel like Grossman made a mistake doing this and should have stayed here another season. I think he needed another season of working on his game with limited opportunities to get on the field and show what he can do and I don't think Washington is a better place to do that than Houston. Still I wish him well unless he's on the other side of the line of scrimmage from us. I dont' hold his particularly poor performance against Jacksonville against him. I considered him a two year project from day one and that was too soon IMO to be trying to get results from him, particularly in that situation. I felt like the play calling while he as in there hung him out to dry.
He's better than Jason Campbell.
I dont understand the hate either.
He hardly played at all last season?
And depending on who/what you believe, that play caller is who he's following to D.C.
Quite honestly, I couldn't care less about the backup QB right now. I really think they'll do what they did last year. Find a veteran who'll play for league minimum late in the process, plan on Orlovsky being the backup, and hope that Orlovsky can win the backup job, and force them into a decision as to whether they keep the backup on the roster or not.
Hopefully this year Orlovsky's able to live up to his part of the deal, but regardless, I do not expect them to sign a QB for anything over the veteran minimum.
Agree and as much as he can make some bad plays I would rather trust him to make some big plays and win a game then the guy they paid big money for, Orlovsky. Not that he can't be good but I wouldn't trust him.
