Glad you were there Pete. It's been too long.
Son of a gun thats why we lost gr8fan showed up !
thanks Greg. and at least I showed up for the game, can't say that the Texans players did.
Nice to see ya back on TT Pete!! Don't stay away this time. This place needs some spark by an old timer!!! Some of these youngsters need someone to teach um a thing or two. They don't hold a candle to you!!
OK Pete, you were right about Carr about 2 years before it was blatantly obvious to everyone else. What's your take now? Is it Kubiak?
Kubiak is yet another McNair 'rookie' mistake. Kubiak never was a HeadCoach in the NFL, just at Carr was never a QB. McNair is making the same mistake over again with Kubiak that he did with Carr. Loyalty is a very good thing, but not in a business situation. McNair gave Carr an extension, he also gave Kubiak one. Despite the fact that the record on both of them shows they did not warrent an extension. Kubiak interviewed once before for a head coach prior to the Texans with the Raiders, and Davis said he wasn't ready. Davis is a lousy owner, but he was right Kubiak was and still isn't ready.
Capers is a very good Defensive Coordinator, lousy Head Coach. Kubiak is a very good Offensive Coordinator, lousy Head Coach. Both of them had a shot at HC and failed. Remember, insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly but expecting different results.
When is McNair going to stop acting like a rookie owner and get a Head Coach in here who has actually BEEN a Head Coach before. Problem with that idea is who is available, would be worth hiring, and would actually be interested in taking the job.
Now there's the million dollar question.
Thanks to all those who missed me, it is good to see and be posting again. The board is doing well and I have been lurking for quite some time now. Just decided to get back off the bench and get back into the game.
That's because, in spite of yourself, you're a DIEHARD, just like the rest of us!!!
It's gr8 to see you posting, man. Your perspective is always appreciated.
Don't know you, but everything you said in that post is spot on. I have believed this since the end of year 2 with Kubiak and he hasn't proven me wrong at this point, but I still hope he does.
Cowher might be available after this season is over and many people think that there is no way that he would come here. I totally disagree, because he was very close to going to coach for the freaking Bills last off season who have no QB, no skill players, and a terrible defense. We've got a great owner and franchise to work for, a pretty good QB, AJ, Foster, and some really nice pieces on our defense in place. I think we'd have a pretty good shot at Cowher if the NJ Giants coaching job doesn't come open. The Texans would be by far one of the best coaching destinations in the league if Kubes were fired after this season.
That makes too much sense. I hadn't thought of it that way.
My mistake was buying into the 'continuity' way of thinking.
But on second thought, do we really want to continue with what we have been doing?
Wade will be available soon and he is not dullas problem. Jones and Garrett are.
Guess this should be in the Texans Talk forum?
