GM Smith discusses Mocks in Texans Draft preparation

    "Our preparation is no different than when we picked 10th last year and took (defensive tackle) Amobi (Okoye)," Texans general manager Rick Smith said. "The difference is we have to do a little more research, because, as the process develops, we spend more time studying other teams' needs and what we think they might do. Last year, we tried to predict what the nine teams ahead of us were going to do on draft day. This year, it's 17 teams.

    "In all of our mock drafts, we had Amobi off the board when our time came. That's why we were so excited when he was there. We were all over him when he was available."

    That actually would be nice. That way we could see who we were really targeting or who we really wanted.
