RIP George. Sad news. I remember him playing at the Dome when he was with the Raiders.

He was a Raider too and both Houston and Oakland play this week.

Wow, truly sad. QB/place kicker! That memory made me smile! Times have really changed in the world of profootball since George played. Those were the "good old days!!"

I remember him coming in late in games to relieve Darrell Lamonica, and bringing the Raiders from behind to beat the Chiefs.

Seemed like it happened every freakin' time the Chiefs and Raiders played, but it was probably only once.

    RIP George.

Growing up on the east coast we always seemed to get the Raiders as the late afternoon game. I use to like the Raiders back then.

Blanda just always seemed to be doing somthing - kicking field goals or throwing TD's. He played forever.

George was a tough old boot.

I 'have heard' the story of him telling his center to let an opposing player come charging in and Geo planted a fast ball in his face.

I witnessed Geo kicking a defensive player in the arse after he had roughed Geo on a sack. Kansas City player if my memory is right.

Don't make em like Geo anymore.

    Rest in peace Mr Blanda.
