I just got hooked on making Texans GIF's out of game footage. You have
something you want to see from a game this season, let me know and I'll try to make one.

Here are some I made so far:

Good stuff man. Could you make one of AJ destroying the Bills safety last week? It was on a quick slant pass, I think on 3rd down. AJ catches it, shakes the CB off, then steamrolls the safety.

Is there anybody here who doesn't have a huge man crush on AJ?

That play is so much better when I take into account the view I had. From my point of view, it looked like a pick, there was a collective groan in the Bull Pen.

actually could you make a couple more good AJ ones? they're all from the 200 yd titans game he had last year. just when they showed his route running. any of:

    1. early in the game when he fakes a slant route on finnegan before running a great post route
    2. on the long bomb (60-70 yarder) could you get a one of him just running that route. he kinda faked a comeback route before turning on the burners and blowing by griffin
    3. in the 4th quarter when matt just threw it up and let him go get it along the sideline

What is the process for making those things? What software are you using?

There is a program called Animation Shop 3 that I was told about in another thread. It's a pretty nice program that lets you extract a range of frames from most video files you have saved. Only catch with it is that the video has to be .mpeg or .avi to work. Once you have that, Animation Shop allows you to resize / crop and everything else.

Getting a saved .avi or .mpeg is the real pain though since most of this stuff is streamed. For that I use a Firefox add-on called Netvideo Hunter, it's free and since it's an add on it is incorporated with Firefox. If the video is .flv or .mp4 I use a free video converter to convert it to .avi. I use Any Video Converter but those are easy to find.

It's kind of a labor at first but eventually you can crank them out pretty quickly.

You explained it a whole lot better than I ever could have. Another thing
is that some files can't be converted directly from mp4 to avi. In those
instances, I convert it to a .VOB, or DVD, THEN I convert it to XviD.

I use Microsoft Movie Maker to cut my clips, then I use Animation Shop 3
    to make the GIF's.

So, yes. There is a steep learning curve, but after that, it's a piece of
    cake.
