With Scott, and Winston available in the 2nd, and Whitworth, and Trueblood available in the 3rd, you couldnt get us a left tackle?

Take Bush. Thats fine. Take Lewis, thats great! But to take a center over a tackle like Whit, or Blood just sounds like a wasted pick.

Even Pitts would start over a 3rd round tackle. The guards should be addressed at that point.

I would take a LT over Lewis and hope for Byrd in the 3rd. Hey that rymes. I really doubt that just because of the senior bowl that Byrd jumps Pope and Lewis.

I'm not too sure about that, Lewis is a top 15 talent.

Bush just messes up all of our picks. With a simple trade down we could address most of our needs with starter talent.

Historically, the team that trades down gets the better deal.

I think trading down is the best option, if you can find a partner not to far down.

    What are you thinking??

    D'Brick in the 1st
    Ko Simpson in the 2nd

both those players who would start, would not be better than bush who would split carries at best??

Exactly, if your the worst team in the league you probably have more holes then one good player can fix, thus, you trade down and get more players in the first 3 rounds, giving you more players in needed positions, god knows we have enough holes...

Your new, so I'll just assume you have yet to read the 500 (no exaggeration) other post on why/why not to take bush.

In review: He will split carries at best; DD just got a new, hard to trade contract; RB is not a need on this team; Bush has not shown the ability to run up the middle; we will be setting our team back another year or so without addressing o-line with TOP talent early; Adrian Peterson will be the flavor of the offseason next year, regardless, I can see it now: DD, Bush, AP, Carr, AJ, and Mathis...how scary!!; we are running a zone scheme where later round backs succede.

That is just a summary of the last 3 months.

Again, I ask you, would you honestly take Bush over D'brick/Mario AND a Mercedes Lewis/Ko Simpson??

Lets look back at the chargers who have traded down in the last twice in the last 7 years. The chargers traded down with mike vick and drafted LT with the first pick, drew brees with the first pick of the second. Then they traded eli for phillip(who they're gonna trade for a first when they want) got a their kicker a starting DT with the first this year and a back-up with the pick. 4 starters for 2, 2 pro-bowlers verses 1, ill take that.

I've not seen Ko, but I don't know if he would start. I'm ready to give Glenn Earl staring rights, as he provided some of the best (basically only) highlights of the Defense. CC Brown is...ehhh....

the only way we shouldnt trade down is if no1 above 5 wants to. other than that a trade would be the best thing ever for the texans

YTF I am going to take this route big dogg. Mario Williams in the first off the trade down. Package the traded pick and another plus a next year low and get Eric Winston in the bottom of the first, second I take Ko Simpson. Third I take Nick Mangold and Jonathan Joseph, fourth I am torn Rocky McIntosh or David Thomas, fifth Freddie Roach or Ryan Cook. That is my preliminary, subject to change when I get to Indianapolis for the combine, but I am pretty content with that draft right there.
