No details other than 4 years. I love John McClain's reporting. It actually sounds like he's falling asleep as I'm reading it. "just gootta get this typed up so I can napzzzzzzzzzzz"

It might be undisclosed at this point, or it might come out tomorrow when the signing is official.

    Or, yeah - naptime. LOL

I'm not even talking about the details of the deal. I know he'll include that when it's available. It's the writing sometimes that just kills me. Your post is more along the lines of what I would expect from a "professional sports writer" is that really too much to ask? I guess so.

Back to work. had to rant.

"Draft choices who are unsigned are linebacker Brian Cushing (first), defensive end Connor Barwin (third), center Antoine Caldwell (third) and tight end James Casey (fifth)"

    Definitely nap time

The details may never be available. I guess some players prefer to keep their contracts private. Here are some of the players picked before and after GQ and their deals:

107 Jacksonville Mike Thomas - WR 4 year $2,257,450 contract, $507,450 signing bonus
108 Miami Brian Hartline - WR 4 year $2.25 million contract, $500,000 signing bonus
    109 Green Bay T.J. Lang - OT 4 year $2,252,500 contract, $502,500 signing bonus
110 Dallas Victor Butler - DE
111 Carolina Mike Goodson - RB 4 year undisclosed contract
112 Houston Glover Quin - CB 4 year undisclosed contract
113 San Diego Vaughn Martin - DT
    114 Denver David Bruton - S
115 Detroit Sammie Lee Hill - DT
    116 New Orleans Chip Vaughn - S
117 Tampa Bay Kyle Moore - DE 4 year undisclosed contract
118 New Orleans Stanley Arnoux - LB - IR
    119 Chicago D.J. Moore - CB - 4 year undisclosed contract
120 Dallas Brandon Williams - DE
121 Buffalo Shawn Nelson - TE
122 Houston Anthony Hill - TE Undisclosed contract
123 New England Rich Ohrnberger - G 4 year $2.201 million contract, $451,000 signing bonus

Based on what I read here, he will probably get between $2,252,500 and $2,201,000 over 4 years with a signing bonus somewhere between $500,000 and $450,000.

Yep you're correct, I read "fifth" yesterday too. That's worse than making the original error.

Maybe it's part of the Texans' negotiation process:

Texans: Hi Connor we really want you on the team, so we're willing to pay you the top dollar amount in the fifth round where we drafted you.

Connor's agent: Ummmm, that's not right.

Texans: Okay, okay you caught us...third round money it is!

Yep. Or he wins the starting FS job! He's a ball hawk with some speed.
Dunta will come in, Fred goes to nickel, and all is well.

It isn't an issue of "get" a 4 year deal. Players fight for shorter contracts as they are generally a small signing bonus and then league minimum each year. If he had his way, he would have signed a 3 year deal. The salary isn't guaranteed anyway.
