This from Clayton's 1st and Ten....

    9. Shootout in Houston: Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is putting up record passing yards this season. In eight games, he's thrown for 2,649 yards and 15 touchdowns, even though he hasn't had most of his wide receiving corps for the past couple of weeks. He faces a Houston Texans defense that is setting its own records. The Texans are giving up 299.4 passing yards and 404.1 total yards a game. They are on pace to give up 6,466 yards, worst in the NFL history. What's amazing is how their offense keeps them in games. The three worst 6,000-yard defenses had a combined record of 9-37. The Texans are 4-3.

Just goes to show how well our offense is doing to keep us competitive.

As for todays game, have any two teams ever totaled over 1000 yards offense?

I think our offensive stats are very misleading.

How can you watch 3 Qtrs of bleh.... & think we are the offensive Juggernaut to put up those stats?

Look at Schaubs completion percentage & QB rating.... they've got to be lows for his career as a starter.

Think about it this way, if our defense is good for 3 or 4 stops a game (which they have gotten to date), our offense has got to limit our opponents to 8-10 possessions per game. Instead, since we can't stay on the field, our opponents have been getting 11-14 possessions each game.

Sure, our defense should be able to play well for 20 possessions, but even then, stats against them would naturally be higher.

The only reason they looked "good" last year, was because many times our offense gave our opponent a short field (similar to what the Chargers D has been getting now).

Maybe, at some point, 2 out of these three: Oilers, Bengals, Browns.

There are really only a few teams that can consistently put up 30+ points. Unfortunately, one of those teams is whoever plays us on a weekly basis.
