Lol, outside of the 1st couple of drives where he and the entire o-line struggled, he did play fairly solid imo. He was slow in picking up exactly 1 damn stunt ...but again, that was in those first couple of drives where they all had communication issues.

Seth Payne is literally largely echoing my sentiments about Martin and the o-line’s play in the game on the radio as I type this. Said there was much more cohesion in this game than he saw at any point last year. Guys knew their assignments and got there. He Writes off a few of the sacks due to the newness of Tunsil. He did mention Henderson’s play as a little “concerning”, but not outright bad as you’re asserting.

Lol, think it’s u who needs to stop watching games.

There was no freaking cohesiveness like that. So many blown blocking assignments, which is to expected. Now they did look good in spruts, which is a very good sign they will/should develop by week 4 or 5.

Maybe the trades will work out just fine or maybe they won’t. I still do not have confidence in O’Brien to out coach and win against upper echelon teams and coaches.

    O'Brien couldn't out-coach himself.

He just left too much time on the clock for Brees on Monday night.

Interesting take. Hadn't heard that before. Maybe we should consider it.

OB couldn't out coach my little sister and the only thing she knows about football is they have cheerleaders.

How bout a squib kick instead of kicking it deep after the go ahead TD.

    Burn some clock!!!

No … Lets kick it deep and give Brees the ball at the 25.

Let’s say we squib kick and the ball takes a weird bounce, kicks up in the air and is fielded by the Saints at their 35 or 40 yr line. Oblong balls can do weird things when they hit the ground. I think BOB would’ve been absolutely crucified if that happened. Nine out ten times when teams use a squib kicks it’s at the end of the half or the game and they are trying to prevent a return, without concern about field position

Or, worse yet, what if this happened

Looking at it more, I don't think it was a good situation for a squib kick.

There were still 37 seconds left so the squib wouldn't run out the clock. It would take more time off but then they'd have better field position.

It would make sense if it could either a) run out the clock or b) you are avoiding a dangerous returner who might score a TD

But we're really trying to prevent a field goal there, not a TD, so field position was more important

The talk is if Colvin would have done his job on the last play the Texans would have won, but if the refs would have done theirs there would have been 26 secs left, not 16. Could the Texans have scored in about 20 secs or would NO have just ran it off the clock?

What does this mean anyway? Do you think I’m saying that was the only problem?

Seantrel is benched for Rodrick. So I guess BOB/Devlin disagrees with your assessment as well.
