I don't expect the Texans to remain at 1:1 but if they do , I think they have to go with Clowney (I Know I've been a voice against him but he's the best physical prospect in this draft.
That means QB has to be addressed later , the question is , how much later and who will be available at 2:1 or 3:1. A couple have been flying up the draft boards (Savage) while others are falling like a led balloon (Bridgewater) , at least in the eyes of the media and other talking heads.

The teams needs are pretty well defined , QB , DE , RT , CB , DT & ILB.

With 11 picks , I'd expect some maneuvering up and down to target specific players who may drop or that may not be around when the next pick comes up. I wont put any trades in as that just complicates things too much.

1:1 Clowney Questions aside , he's the #1 prospect and you take the #1 prospect with the #1 pick.

2:1 Jimmy Garoppolo QB , Eastern Illinois. Quite possible the Texans move back a few spots here and still get their QB while picking up another pick or take Derek HHWNBM at 2:1.

Really wanted to find a way to get one of Garoppolo or Derek HHWNBM along with Washington ST Safety Deone Bucannon but no trades in this mock. May be difficult to pull off anyway as Bucannon could go very soon after this pick and would make it difficult to fill the RT spot adequately.

3:1 Jack Mewhort OT, Ohio State. Nasty RT , massive upgrade over Newton.

4:1 Antone Exum CB , Virginia Tech. Good size , adequate speed and can play safety / cover TE's in man to man.
This is a spot I'd like to make a move up from to target Nebraska CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste. He likely goes mid 3rd round but since I'm not doing trades , I'll take someone I believe is available at the pick.

4:35 (Comp pick) E.J. Gaines CB , Missouri. Double Dipping at the CB position. You can never have enough guys that can cover.

5:1 Max Bullough ILB , Michigan St. Just a good physical football player. Smart , plays sideline to sideline. Very under rated.

6:1 Ryan Carrethers DT , Arkansas State. Much needed anchor inside , able to take on double teams , occupies a lot of space.

6:5 (Schaub trade) De'Anthony Thomas RB , Oregon. Change of pace back with game breaking speed. This late , why not swing for the fences , make an Al Davis type pick with the pick from the Raiders ?!

    7:1 Anthony Johnson DT/DE LSU

7:41 (Comp pick) Brett Smith QB Wyoming Here's your Johnny Football.

Here's a draft I did on FirstPick.com with a trade which allowed me to get my QB and another player I really like , then shake up day three , picking up a solid OG and ILB that I wasn't able to add in my mock above. That trade kinda threw me for a loop because I wasn't familiar with some of the later safeties and corners beyond those in the 3rd - 4th rounds which is why I didn't add a safety.

    1:1 Clowney
2:1 trade Tampa Bay gives 2:6 and 3:5
    2:6 Jimmy Garoppolo .
    3:1 Jack Mewhort
    3:5 Stanley Jean-Baptiste
    4:1 David Yankey, OG, Stanford
4:35 Christian Jones, ILB, Florida State
    5:1 Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon
6:1 Max Bullough, ILB, Michigan State
6:5 Calvin Barnett, DT, Oklahoma State
    6:35 De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon
    7:1 Taylor Hart, DE, Oregon
    7:41 Brett Smith, QB, Wyoming

Thought we had 11 picks? Are you missing a 6 or a 7?

Like the players im familiar with in your draft...though personally I would select a d lineman over double dipping early on the cbs. Jimmy g is a guy I like a lot but he seems to have "fallen" in the last couple of weeks. Like him at 2 way more then savage.
