20 - Texans 8-8-0 They reached respectability in 2007. Improving will be difficult because their division is so tough. (PY)

I dont get how we dropped from 16 b/c our division is tuff in the offseason but w/e

Today was a day when i needed a good laugh and I got it

16 - Titans 10-6-0 They didn't get as much help from QB Vince Young as they should have. But he's going to become good enough to carry the offense. (PY)

    based on?

So what....with all respect. What do rankings mean...?? NOTHING. NE was far and away #1 all last year, got ass handed to them in the SB, so much for that!

VY will become the first QB to learn to pass to himself or he has the option to pass to one of the 10 TE's they have on their roster.

Dumb polls...at least this one didn't have the Jets in front of us.

Just win and someday you get respect...or just move the team to the east coast.

Wondering why the Giants aren't #1. You have to beat the man to be the man. Giants did that.

I love my Texans much as the next fan on this board but sooner then later it's gotta hit some of you guys. Last year was our FIRST 8-8 season.

Much as this pains me to say this. The Titans made the playoffs last year and swept us. They deserve to be ahead of us. Though the Vince line is laughable though.

If this team wants respect they have to go out on the field and play the elite teams in the AFC tough and beat a few, go to the playoffs and sustain that run for a few years.

    Here's the great news:

We look like we got the right GM and coach to do this.

Ranking NFL teams in May (or any of the other 11 months of the year) is ridiculous, and anybody who thinks we should put any stock in their rankings is delusional. If they know so much, how come they have to change their rankings 17 times during the season? :splits:

Think about it - in late January, almost everybody did a rankings of sort with only 2 teams left. The vast majority ranked the Patriots #1 and the Giants #2, and the vast majority got it wrong. What hope to these pinheads have with 32 teams more than 3 months prior to the season?

Its just one of those things to where everyone is going to have to see it to believe it. This is our year to earn every ones true respect and thats exactly what we are going to do.

Of note: On NFL live they went through the rankings... and Matt Schlereth chose us as one of the underrated teams, pointing out we went 7-3 vs. the rest of the NFL despite all of our injuries. And are pretty close to putting a contender for the division together.

Psh, Dave Ragone's been there done that. Of course, his pass was for -2 yards. That said, Vince Young's accuracy is so bad anyway, he's usually lucky to get any yards whatsoever, forwards or backwards.

Alex Gibbs probably told him to say that. If he didn't he was going to show up at his house and cut block him.

This actually doesn't bother me - but it's rather backward looking. Last year, 3 AFC South teams made the playoffs. That leaves us with about 5 or 6 in Division losses. 2 outside the division isn't bad. However, hellow, this is 2008 :)
