For some reason I had a feeling there have always been elite QBs but I guess the greats stack up in my mind.

I'd add Carson Palmer to the list too. He started off slow, but has been playing pretty good lately. Not to mention he just came off a major knee injury.

I'd also add Donovan McNabb. He's been playing big and putting up some good numbers for a few years now.

By my definition of "elite", Peyton Manning is the only one that fits the mold. To me, "elite" is somebody that you know is going to be in the Pro Bowl every year.

There are several QBs that could become elite:

    Donovan McNabb
    Tom Brady
    Carson Palmer
    Drew Brees
    Phillip Rivers
    Matt Leinart
    Vince Young

Add Jeff Garcia if he continues winning and beats the Cowboys on Christmas day.

I don't think rings make a QB elite. There have been a few below average QBs that have won rings. There have been several average QBs that have won rings.

Brady is not an average QB. He's not an elite QB either.
