I ran across the http://www.drafthistory.com/ website tonight. It has a lot of data on draft history (maybe everyone knows about this site, but it was new to me).

The guy who runs it has recently been doing an analysis of team needs. Basically, he looks at stats related to some subset of the team from last year and ranks teams from 1 (little need) to 5 (drastic need) in each stat category, then breaks the teams into groups of "most" need to "least" need overall based on that info. So far, he's looked at the Offensive line, Defensive front 7, and Defensive backfield. The Texans fall into the second-to-worst classification in each.

Kind of sobering, and a reminder that almost any position we draft is one of need...
