I have been saying it, I think DD has a break out year. Great hands, and a tough player.
Hard work pays off.
Ugh... I don't want to seem like a hoity grammar gestapo, but that was almost unreadable. But I'm glad to see that Dickerson's work is paying off. I had high hopes after the last pre-season.
It's good to hear of DD doing well in training camp but sometimes I get the feeling it doesn't matter how well or bad you do, if your not one of Kubiaks "boys" then your not playing.
It read ok to me.
Glad to hear dd is doing well. I doubt he takes time away from jacoby though, but in think it's possible that Kevin Walter may see fewer snaps.
Personally, I don't trust any report saying this guy or that guy is doing well at camp. I wait to see who's playing in the preseason games and how well the do there.
I have high hopes for DD. We stole him in the 7th round. And because of that, I think he'd qualify as one of Kubiak's "boys." Although, I really don't think Kubiak is that tied to players. He will give them a shot and he will give them a chance to play themselves in or out of the rotation. If he was that tied to his "boys", David Anderson would still be on the squad.
and a UDFA wouldnt have lead the league in rushing last year.
Its pretty obvious that Kubiak will give the players a chance to earn a role .... its up to them to do so.
Marquis...hahaa.....you're looking for "marquee". Marquis is a name, I believe.
I think I would've been fine without JJones but since we have him it's a nice little log jam. AJ is the best. Walter is a veteran but is what he is and is limited in some regards. Still a valuable player, would be a better fit at slot/3WR than #2 anyway. IMO it would be nice if all 3 of these young, alliteratively named WR rotated at #2 or in for AJ to keep him healthy. JJ, DD and TT. Weird huh?
Ya, for what I think is supposed to be a professionally written piece it was awful. It's mid high school level writing. Several mis-spelled words, one completely long run on sentence, a mis-placed comma. Actually too many comma's period. Some spacing issues, a few poorly worded sentences, etc.
If he/she was a HS sophmore, I grade it a C+. As a professional journalist that grades a D-.
As for content, I don't trust the source and the only real thought was that he made one really nice catch in practice. Hardly enough to build a whole article around.
I was thinking the same thing.
I'm excited about our receivers. We all know AJ, JJ and KW are locks for the team. But it's that next group that has me really excited.
Dickerson has so much potential. I heard on 610 this morning that Toliver is looking like the quentesential pro... being the first one out there, has play sheets he's studying, and acts like he's got a chip on his shoulder that he has something to prove. Jeff Maehl will be great in DA's old role.
I really really wanted Holiday to make the team as our return specialist but he'll have to be so far above and beyond the other returnmen that he gets a spot like Mathis did. NO WAY can he tie up a roster spot if it means Toliver, Maehl or Dickerson has to go to the practice squad.
Jeez, I want all of these guys to get playing time this season and some receptions, I just don't know that there's enough to go around when you factor in OD, Dreessen, Casey, and Graham. Wow!
Anyone remember that play where he came in at the end of the game and beat the CBs and Safeties deep, but the ball was overthrown but he caught it out of bounds in the back of the end-zone. that is when i took notice. the boy can run
You mean that you don't trust those grinding in-tutu practice reports we're getting?
Dickerson's one-handed grab
I love watching this clip of his one-handed grab during preseason last year. What gets me is his ball awareness and ability to separate from the DB at the very end. He's running pretty fast to begin with, knows the ball is just out of reach and can speed up just enough. I want him to succeed and get some real looks this year.
I agree, PN. A lot of people dislike pre-season games (mostly due to $ I'm sure), but I love it. I really like watching and grading the players, especially the no-namers. Heck, I even record them and re-watch during the week.
That said, I could do without the Tillman commentating. If he says "an apple and a road map" again this season I'm kickin the dog and blaming him for it.
Well, of course, THOSE I trust.
I remember that game. IIRC we could've tied the game with that one right?
or how about when he says "This aint bula bula"?
I read or heard somewhere he was working out this summer with Larry Fitzgerald of the Cardinals up in Pittburgh where they both went to college along with Kevin Kolb. I want to see what this guy can do.....
Separate names with a comma.
