    Someone explain to me how these teams are already signing players.

    The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced they have signed free-agent LB Renauld Williams (49ers). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

    ESPN.com reports the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent DL Edward Johnson (Colts), a source told ESPN's John Clayton. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

    I think some players who either didn't play last year or came from elsewhere...Candadian leagues, etc can sign now. The Bengals signed Matt Jones, who didn't play last year and was out of football. Same with the Ravens signing Stallworth...out of football and cut

    Okay. I was just wondering. I figured as much but these guys sounded as if they played last year. At least I recall them playing last year.
