Delay to start of Free Agency?

    A report from the NY Daily News that claims the opening of free agency could be moved back from Mar 3 to Apr 1 if mgmt and labor are able to make enough progress in CBA negotiations. It would be much easier to negotiate new FA and rookie contracts if they get this hammered out sooner rather than later because of the ability to prorate bonuses for more than four years.

    I like having that free agency period start early enough to allow the Texans to pick up a couple of pieces before going into the draft. If they can sign a Chris Hope they don't need to draft a FS. Still, I'd be happier if the labor problems were resolved soon.

    I would like it alot better if it was sooner. Same reasoning as you. I beleive i'd like to see what we can get out of the FA to plan better for the draft.

    I like having the time to look up the no names they signed to hugh upper tier money. (Greenwood, Wade ect...)
