Gotta say, I'm loving David Anderson right now. I thought he did pretty good in preseason too...maybe we should get him in there more often even after Davis comes back.

We have a top 5 offense......It doesn't really matter who's playing the slot, everybody is getting the job done.

I don't think they can go wrong with working a rotation of the three in at the slot. Jacoby needs to start getting a few reps, so we can see if he is really adjusting, and AD can stretch the field from the slot. Anderson catches everything thrown his way and is pretty quick.

He's a really good blocker. I think he deserves more PT.

Um, when Andre Davis is playing they usually slide AJ or Walter to the slot. Andre Davis has been sure handed, does not fumble, and is at least as fast as anyone else on the team. David Anderson has done well too; it sure is nice to have four or five receivers who can get the job done well.

What I'd truly like to see is more 3 and 4 wide receiver sets.

And running the ball out of that.

I think the Andre Davis we have seen this year has been a little limited by his finger problem. He didn't make an excuse with it, but it can't be good for a receiver/returner to have massive pain every time they catch the ball.

I think David Anderson is a great story.

BTW, if you want to see him in person, he will be debating for the Presidency of the Texans at the Ragin Cajun Westheimer in the late afternoon.

I like all of them, it is called depth. Moreover, due to the depth we have the ability to move our WRs around, especially AJ, and keep the defense guessing.

Lastly, any discussion that involves our passing game, specifically 5-15 yard routes, needs to include Owen Daniels. Having OD and Anderson on the field would make me believe that the odds are good that AJ is not going to the middle. There is a finite amount space in the 5-15 yard range with the speed of NFL LBs and Safeties in my opinion.

I like Anderson a lot too. But, like the others, I think we have 3 guys who could be the #3, so I say let's work all of them in here and there. Anderson sure has beat my expecatations though. He has some Kevin Walter in him, but is smaller - good to great hands, knows how to get open, etc.

And I really liked this quote from Lance too:

And this, boys and girls, is what it looks like to have a QB (actually two) who can work the deep middle of the field. David Carr was one of the worst at working that part of the field while this duo excels at it. It should come as no surprise that the offense's productivity has skyrocketed since they added QBs who can exploit defenses in that area.

Anyone want to make a trade of Schaub for Carr and two #2 draft picks? :texflag:

I found it pretty funny that while Eli was talking to a coach about plays, Carr just looked at the printouts scratching his chin pretending to be involved.

Daivid Anderson got extra game PT because he got extra practice PT. Its called depth & its a good thing :specnatz:

    Andre Johnson - 1st rd. #3 overall 2003
    Kevin Walter - 7th rd. #255 overall 2003
    Jacoby Jones - 3rd rd. #73 overall 2007
    Andre Davis - 2nd rd. #47 overall 2002
    David Anderson - 7th rd. #251st overall 2006

Practice Squad- Darnell Jenkins undrafted, 08 & Mark Simmons undrafted 06.

I suppose the addition of a pure route runner in next years draft could easily be argued, cause you always need to retool & keep the pipeline stocked but this group considering whats been invested has been very productive to date.

I like the way DA uses his hands to catch the ball. That catch across the middle was a thing of beauty. It was perfect placement and the ball just seemed to stick in DA's out-stretched hands.

His TD was caught with all hands too and the ball was placed right on the numbers.

The recievers were great yesterday, but the qb was putting the ball right on the money all day. Schaub should get some credit too because he has been fantastic the past few games.

I'll give 'em credit. He's been playing well over the past few games. I hope he keeps it up because we need it.

He has been playing very good lately. I'd like to see how it translates against teams that are actually decent. IMO, the next two games will tell us where our team is at.

Can we win on the road? Vikings

Can we beat a good defense? Ravens

    We'll soon find out. :fans:

And THAT my man is the key. We did beat two of the worst teams in the league, but we should be able to do that if we are any good at all.

In the next two weeks we get some teams are are more to our level. The Vikings are 3-4 like us, and the Ravens are 4-3. The next two weeks will show the character of this team.

Anderson is the type of guy that every team needs. He should never be cut if you can help it. He is a good player. He works hard and he keeps the team loose. Funny. Check these quotes

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/6079582.html

In case you’re wondering, David Anderson’s swivel-hipped end-zone routine Sunday was a Conan O’Brien knockoff. Also, in case you’re wondering, the previously little-used Anderson has plenty more skits prepared. Now, all he needs is the playing time to keep scoring.

“I looked at the scoreboard afterward,” Anderson said, sizing up his choreography. “I was pretty satisfied with it. I’ve got a full repertoire of them, about a hundred.”
Andre Johnson said he was “happy for David” because of how prepared he keeps himself during practices, and how good a teammate he is.

For example, Anderson repeatedly asked Johnson how was feeling after suffering a physically demanding afternoon. The Bengals seemed to be taking their half season of frustrations out on the Texans’ star receiver.

“Why you keep asking me if I’m all right?” Johnson asked him at one point. He said Anderson replied, “You’re my baby. I’ve got to worry about you.”

Why is it so hard to scroll through videos on the Chron's website?
