I saw an article that mentioned the Ravens organization mantra about "building a bully". Imposing your will on people is what that is all about and Cushing is helping this team find some of their inner bully.

he's the only one besides Ryans who hits hard, and will let you know about it after the play. nothing dirty or illegal, just flat out toughness.

    I heart Brian Cushing.

If I had a vote, Cushing would def get my vote. Granted the only two games I have seen so far have been the Titans and Raiders game, but the dude just gets to the football.

All it seems he needs to do is cut way back on the Personal Fouls, and he will be fine.

Nah... As long as he's playing aggressively, I don't care if he draws the
occasional flag. I'll take 15 yards, if it fires the defense up enough to
force the other team to punt.

It's interesting to me how many linebackers make this list (4 of the 10). I don't think it's an exception - it seems that many years, it is a LB who is making a huge impact as a rookie. Demeco Ryans is one example, Patrick Willis another. And, they don't have to be top 5 or top 10 picks to make that impact.

Normally I think of RB as the main spot where players can make a quick transition to the NFL level, but it seems like LB might be right up there with it.

Edited to add: yeah, I just looked it up - the last 6 DROYs have been Linebackers according to Wikipedia. Interesting.
