To some of you in the know. I have seen the Texans and other teams say a player has joined the team only to be released a few weeks later. Are they paid? What generally happens in these cases?

I would think they don't get paid considering they have never been on the field.

A good example of what you are talking about is Zeke Moreno. We picked him up about a month ago and when last cutting 10 players he was released. On http://www.houstonprofootball.com/cap.html it shows our cap situation as of a few days ago without rookies. After him recently getting cut it does not show his salary going against the cap. I am guessing all that Moreno was given was his signing bonus if he got one and that is basically nothing against the cap.

Better yet, don't sign him. He and Walker will haunt us in a big way through the end of '07.
