Vikings | Culpepper to be released?
    Fri, 24 Feb 2006 04:59:56 -0800

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins expect the Minnesota Vikings to release QB Daunte Culpepper before the Vikings are scheduled to pay him a $6 million roster bonus March 17. Because of that belief, the Dolphins have resisted the offer to trade for Culpepper. The Dolphins and Vikings recently discussed a trade for Culpepper. Despite those discussions, the Dolphins are not interested in a trade at this point. They are examining a number of quarterback options.

Does anyone know how much money they are going to be out if they release him? Which I don't expect them to do.

They will have a little under $6 mil in dead money on their cap but will save about $3.7 mil off their cap for the year overall.

    Houston, again.
According to Yahoo sports, it looks like Culpepper is staying with the Vikes. He and the owner talked and he even offered to do something with his bonus to help the team.
