    Couch drawing interest
<Feb. 14> Former Browns QB Tim Couch is expected to work out for the Texans this week, reports ESPN.com's John Clayton. Couch also is on the Dolphins' radar, and the Seahawks could be interested, as well.

Previously, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported that the Bengals are considering Couch as a backup to Carson Palmer for next season. Current backup Jon Kitna is expected to leave via free agency.

One other possible destination for Couch is Tennessee. Couch recently worked out for the Titans.

Couch, the No. 1 pick of the 1999 draft, missed all of last season recovering from shoulder surgery.

Interesting. Wonder what their motive is for that. *scratches head*

Could be a possible cheap vet stand in for Young or a possible legit vet to push/compete with Carr. I would like that. Could be another Drew Henson sign and flip deal.

he also played for some crap teams. It will be interesting if we do take him to see what Kubiak can do for him as well.

Maybe he will be signed and coached by Kubiak and traded for a 3rd round pick next yr...and Kubiak will be known as QB saver...

I can't see where this makes any sense....other than just to replace banks.

If Tony Banks is going to cost more than Couch, then it would be a good move. If not, why bring Couch in? Hasn't played in a year. Didn't do well as a starting, former #2 pick QB, and is just as immobal as Banks. tony likes it here, will continue to be a team guy, and will continue to be a decent backup for Carr.

But he had such a good line and weapons. What's the deal with him, I heard talk of "dead arm." Was there an actual injury, surgery?

Sherman worked with him for brief stint in GB. I like the move alot, better than the inaction in the last regime.

There was surgery..no time to provide links at the moment.

Couch is a former 1st pick in the draft and if he is floating around it makes sense to see if he is healthy. He is just looking to make a squad at this point in his life and poses no short term threat to anyone not named Dave Ragone.

I think it's a good thing that they're looking at him, but I see it as a small issue....a really small one.

I am behind whatever the new staff wants to do. The only way to cure all of our ills is to make changes, the best changes will be informed decisions and to do that you must consider all of the possibilities.
