Looks like the Colts search to hire a GM is over.
If he's had a major role in the personnel on that team I think it speaks well for the Colts.
Well, guess we'll be seeing the dominoes falling now in Indy for their future.
I hate to say it, but it looks like a good hire.
Anxious to see what this means for Caldwell.
You may be, but he's probably not!
I hope they keep Caldwell, but for selfish reasons...
Caldwell's future is intimately tied up with what to do about Peyton Manning.
35 and coming off of several neck surgeries, if it was anyone aside from Peyton Manning the writing would be on the wall.
Luck is the shoe in fit for the organization and the best college QB prospect since Peyton. He's goes #1 overall to them, period.
Questions are more right now about Peyton's health and the way the cap looks for the Colts. With the way it looks like several key veterans are poised to be released even with a fully healed and rested Peyton can they still compete with the AFC elite along with the new AFC South?
With Luck as your #1 pick whats the point of him sitting longer than a year, if even that? He's ready to step in now.
An outright release of Manning isn't smart on their part, but then again the prospect of eating the 28 million dollar bonus due soon can't seem totally appealing either. In the end to make a trade they might just have to eat that 28 million to get some sort of compensation draft or player trade to swing a deal.
