All fact, no emotion.
Instead of the Texans finishing they got finished on.
The Texans defense is still a work in process and the Saints offense was able to find the holes and exploit the weaknesses - but not really until later in the game. The guys did pretty well in the first half. But after the Saints had time to adjust their schemes, they ended up on top.
In fact, it is amazing that the Texans defense had done as well as they have so far, considering they have a new defensive coordinator and are converting to a 3-4, with no offseason workouts. The good news is that the defense will continue to get better and the Texans are not likely to face many other teams with as strong of an offense as the Saints this year.
The offense should have done better in the red zone. But they did score 33 points, which should be enough to win in the NFL if your defense handles its business. Unfortunately, the Texans defense was just plain outmatched by a Saints offense that was clearly better than the Texans were yesterday.
While the offense should have scored more in the red zone, they did not play "badly" and are not the reason why the Texans lost this game. It was the Texan's defense that really came up short.
NO got in 5 wide at the perfect time.
I think we're going to see a lot of no-huddle against our defense this year. So far, it seems as though that is the defenses achilles heel this year.
