Vikings | Childress chosen as new head coach; must now reach contract
    Thu, 5 Jan 2006 16:35:10 -0800

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Minnesota Vikings have chosen Brad Childress, formerly the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, as their new head coach. The two sides have begun negotiations and as long as they can work out contract terms, the team is expected to name him their head coach Friday, Jan. 6, at a press conference.

    I guess that's a good choice.

I've not heard this coach's name as a interviewee for the Texans so I am guessing he wasn't somebody they wanted.

Childress was one of my personal favorites. He has been the Eagles OC during thier recent run of good years (not this one obviously).

I don't think he was on our list, so I guess this is semi-good news for us. At least one of the open slots was filled without denying us one of our candidates...

One more coaching candidate/team competition down. Minnesota is expected to announce Brad Childress as head coach on Friday morning. He was Offensive Coordinator for the Philidelphia Eagles.
