Forward progress with the ball stretched outward? If it was a running back making that move, I bet it would have been called a fumble. I think we got away with one there.
The refs blew that call. Carr should not stick the ball out in that manner in the middle of the field. The ball is dead once it crosses the goal line but that does not apply anywhere else on the gridiron.
The replay's showed clearly it was a fumble ...... the one thing the replay doesnt show is When the whistle blew . If the whistle is blown the play is dead period , otherwise it was a fumble .One thing for certian is DC needs to work on holding onto the ball in situations like that ...... twice against the Jag's they have run that play and twice DC has lost the ball ...
This is the way I think of it: Carr gets away with a fumble and we later score a TD on the drive but Gaff has that stupid fumble so it equals out for the Jags...
