Texas' Earl Campbell and Texas A&M's John David Crow will be saluted on the 30th and 50th anniversaries, respectively, of their earning the award, when the Heisman Winners Association gathers on June 28 at the Barton Creek Resort and Spa. Expected to draw at least 30 Heisman honorees — perhaps the largest-ever such gathering — the event includes an inaugural golf tournament and dinner.
"This is something we've always wanted to do," said Griffin, the only two-time Heisman winner and chairman of the HWA, a 5-year-old marketing association formed, owned and operated by past Heisman honorees. "Earl's 30th anniversary and John David's 50th played a big role in this being in Austin."
