Johnson had a broad jump of 11 feet 7 inches, which according to Gil Brandt is the longest he's ever heard of. He was "awesome" in drills, did a 42.5 inch vertical.

hard to justify why he shouldn't go #1.
 
i'd be all for trading up to #1 for this guy.

i see no reason to stay at 8 and overpay and draft a player who in most years would be a middle to late first rounder.

i'd love to have CJ but not at the amount of stuff we'd have to give up.

I'd have to disagree...I think we should stay at 8 BECAUSE we're pretty much guaranteed a VERY good player. Be that gaines, jamaal, okoye, branch, landry, or quinn...off chance of peterson. i'd be thrilled with any of these guys. Johnson, Thomas, and Peterson are the only guys in this draft that everyone views as the elite...that would have challenged #1 overall last year..imo. but after about 5...in any draft it's doubtful you're going to get one of the top 3 guys...your still looking at a stud though, that is much better than anyone else.
