"Dan's done a great job for us since he's been here," said head coach Mike Shanahan. "He's a fierce competitor. The only thing that really slowed him down was injuries. It's not the end of the line. He's going to go out and test the market and he could wind up being back here."

Wow, a guard who comes from a zone blocking scheme is cut. Injury is a concern, but he should, and will be looked at by Houston.

Neil at LG and Pitts at LT, sounds good to me.

Neil is good when he is healthy, but he has not been for the last couple of years. and he also has a holding problem.

He's a dirty player who plays far above his talent level. He's a good investment if he's not overpaid. But how many Broncos lineman do you remember having success outside that system? Or has one ever even left?

I think that has played RG for all of his career.

As a right gaurd with zone blocking expience he has some appeal. However, he has had a few injuries of late and he is over 30, so a shorter 2-3 year contract and modest $$ should be what we work for. If at the right $$, even if he doesn't wind up starting, he would be a solid backup.
