I officially recant my earlier statement that the Broncos will make the play-offs.

On another note, imo, this is where the team should step in & punish Dumerville. They should be harsh enough that Goodell doesn't feel compelled to meddle, yet fair enough that the Player's Association don't meddle as well.

This thing we've got now, where the owners & teams are virtually untouchable, while Goodell plays judge & jury is just not going to work.

The team has to be held accountable.

In fact, imo, if Goodell isn't satisfied with the punishment the team metes out, he should punish the team, not the player.

The athletes are adults. The teams and owners have no ability or right to follow them 24/7 and keep them out of trouble. College student commits a crime you don't go punish the parents and grandparents.

On the original report - this one could carry jail time.

From PFT. He hires an attorney........and the story changes........

Elvis Dumervil’s lawyer: It is likely no charges will be filed
After thorough investigation, I have complete confidence that the underwear that I am wearing will be proven not to be my own.

Supposedly, a second person was arrested along with Dumervil.

This coming off the heals of Jason Kidd being arrested this weekend for DWI.. I believe it happened in or near the Hamptons, New York. This after some benefit or something that he lent himself to..

I'm fine with that. Goodell should leave them alone then. Let the law handle it.

But I bet he'll find a way to fine Elvis.

    From PFT.com.

The law doesn't care if you own the gun, it is whether you use the gun.

On the speeding I can't say anything philosophical but I can say you're a dumbass to get caught that often.

If he got pled guilty 6 times, chances are he got caught way more than that. Maybe being a Bronco got him off & he thought sooner or later they will learn.

    Still a dumbass, I know.

Hell, going all "Ice Cube" in the middle of the street says it all doesn't it?

    NFL Star Elvis Dumervil
    Untucked & Cuffed
    After Gun Arrest [Photo]

TMZ has obtained a photo of Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil ... taken WHILE he was being arrested for allegedly flashing a gun at another motorist during a road rage incident in Miami.

The photo is interesting because it shows the front of Dumervil's shirt untucked and hanging over his shorts ... relevant because the alleged victim had told police Elvis and another man both approached her car and lifted their shirts to show they had guns tucked into their waistbands.

According to the police report, Dumervil had been driving a Land Rover on Saturday ... and following his friend who was driving a Mercedes ... when a woman in an Impala merged between the two cars ... upsetting both Dumervil and his friend.

The men allegedly got out of their cars ... approached the Impala and threatened the female driver while flashing their guns.

Dumervil -- a two-time Pro Bowl D end -- told police he didn't have a firearm ... but cops say they recovered a weapon in the glove compartment of the Land Rover.

28-year-old Dumervil was ultimately booked on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

A rep for Elvis had no comment on the story.
