GM makes a difference... or scouting dept or....
yeah there are so many responsible, hence the ...
The Colts drafted Costanzo to replace Glenn
The drafted Kelly a couple of yrs ago as an attempt to protect Luck. The also drafted Jack Mewhort high back then a couple of yrs ago and Haeg. Those guys have been hurt a lot and Mewhort retired.
Then because Luck was hurt they traded down and scored a bunch of draft picks. They hit on the top 3 picks in Nelson/Leonard/Smith. Putting those guys with the talent already on the roster means Luck is going to be well protected and that doesn't bode well for the rest of the division.
If Freddie Kitchens doesn’t get HC in Cleveland, I would go after him too for at least OC.
And if Gaine doesn’t get an OC from outside the Org, his credibility is taking a hit.
1A. Offensive line
1B. Offensive Coordinator
A lot of personnel change would be required...
and he's a badboy
No, His cred takes no hit whatsoever
Gaine is just OBriens yes man. I don't see him firing OB unless he becomes Cals kids godfather
1st name I thought of.
I really like his style of defense.
Bring him home.
Turned the corner ? Yes. Implemented a brand new OLine in one year ? Absolutely not.
Replacing 3 in one offseason is basically a new OL and the reason they went from crap to great.
That all may be true but nevertheless the Colts have been in the process of rebuilding their Oline since 2011 to get to where they are today.
Maybe so, but they've really focused on fixing the OL in the last 3 yrs.
Replaced 2 in 2018 not 3 so that's a retention of 60 % from prior years.
Just go check out a depth chart for the Colts and see what they did which is three of last years starters were drafted before 2018 (2015, 2016, 2011).
What are you being so f'ing argumentitive about, I'm not making it up, it's in the DC.
Every team drafts OL virtually every year. It's absurd to say they've been trying since 2011 just because that's the oldest guy. And Glowinski is a 1st year with the Colts FA from Seattle.
Tired of this '2-3 years away to fill all the holes' mantra. You don't need to fill every hole. Matt Friggin Stevens had a SB ring as a Patriots starter. You fill what you can and then coach to the strengths and away from the weaknesses.
You'd like to think so but they got (Colts) the best OL prospect to come out of college in the last ten years and he is a monster already and still a rookie.
Ok I think you've finally got it - they have been putting their OLine together since 2011 because according to the DC that's when their current LT was drafted which makes him the most senior acquisition on the line.
How so? Staffing the coaches is the HCs job, your GM shouldn't have to step in to force a hire. If that's the case then you have a bigger problem than just needing an OC
