Easterby is the guy with the juice. Hired on April 2nd to give Cal his opinion of where the org is. Then moves started happening.

That's how gaine and Obrien were hired.

Good to see Cal keeping the tradition

From what I've read is like Luhnow/Morey atleast that's what I read those who worked with him seemed to be saying.

I think Fitterer would be a good choice

This sounds like some kind of stupid (or trollish) statement. Which are you?

McClain is once again FOS, starting with the comment that Caserio is de facto GM of the Patriots

From what I heard on the firing of Gaine

Not happy with developments on the OL or the CB situation in the draft or free agency. Drafting a project in the first round when they needed immediate help.

The failure to come to terms with Clowney and get him extended is a big deal.

I have a friend that used to work with the Texans. When Gaine was first hired one of the things my buddy said was Gaine was extremely frugal and he worried that it might be an issue. Looking over his tenure you can see that this was a problem. You do have to be smart with how you spend money given the salary cap, however what good does it do to have a ton of cap space when you have glaring holes at important positions.

One of my big issues with Gaine was his reliance on players coming off injury, especially at important positions. Henderson and Khalil come to mind. It seems if he was looking for bargains in the scratch and dent department. Given that your best ability is availability, this never sat well with me. I understand relying on guys like Watt, Clowney and Fuller despite injury issues because they are absolute game changers when healthy. Khalil and Henderson are middling to maybe slightly over average at their best

In listening to some of the Caserio’s comments on building a roster, I’m hopeful he is our next GM

A "tampering" case might be made with Easterby since he was up in NE recently and returned not long before Gaine was fired. It's not hard to "connect the dots" with this one!

I’m sure Esterby has it covered. I doubt he did anything that would hurt his chances in obtaining the GM he thinks will get us to where we only dream of getting to. Belichic and Kraft can try to get us for something, but I doubt they will. I just hope they can’t block the Caserio interview!

A lot of these moves people are putting on gaine were done in conjunction with the coaches.

Per McClain, OBrien signed off on all personnel moves.

I wish I had your confidence that Easterby did nothing wrong but it won't take much for the Pats ("Belicheat" and Kraft) to take the slightest little thing, like both Easterby and Caserio were seen talking together at the awards ceremony last week, and run with it! They may be getting the paperwork ready to file with the League Office now! If Caserio is half as good as they say he is then I expect "Belicheat" and Kraft to throw everything they have at trying to stop him from leaving. Even if it's just stall tactics to just wear down the other team and make them look elsewhere for their GM. This is the Patriots. And, at least since "Belicheat" has been there, they have been caught cheating or "bending the rules" a few times. So, I hope Cal, and Easterby, and BOB are ready and they don't take a knife to a gunfight!

I agree with this^^^. It seems to me that if the Pats are that dependent on Caserio, the way to keep him is to give him the title of GM. I'm sure Belichick would love that.
