The Buffalo Bills have traded Pro Bowl offensive tackle Jason Peters to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com.

In exchange for Peters, the Bills receive the Eagles’ 28th overall pick of the first round as well as a second-day draft pick in this year’s draft and a late-round draft pick in 2010.

Peters has been unhappy with his contract and hasn’t been attending the Bills’ offseason activities after staging a holdout last summer at training camp.

Presumably, Peters will be seeking a new deal from his new employers.

    Solid trade for both ends.

The Eagles should have a nice set of tackles after signing Stacy Andrews during free agency, and now picking up Jason Peters. It will be interesting to see if they keep their remaining 1st Round pick or use it in a trade for Braylon Edwards or Anquan Boldin.

That kills any talk of us trading back with Philly.

I think the only way they would have moved up was if Oher fell to us so now that they got a OT they won't be moving.

If Sanchez doesn't drop to #15 I see no way out of our spot.

Steep price to pay for Peters, IMO. He's a good OT when he wants to be. He didn't have a good season last year. I suppose that might change when he gets paid.

Thats a hefty giveaway but Jason Peters is a Pro Bowl OT and I'm suprised other teams didn't trade for/offer anything other then the Iggles. Good trade IMO, as the Bills need to beef up there defense and add offensive weapons.

Ha! Looks like another year of killing people with D-mac & the Iggles on madden....

On the flip side of the deal, Trent Edwards is gonna be running for his life on & off the field once TO realizes Edwards won't have enough time to get him the ball...

I wonder how this affects the draft in front of us as far as OL goes.

Rumor has it the Eagles were looking to trade up for one of the Tackles and I figure the price was way too high. To me it looks like the Eagles have more of a sure thing at probably a little less cost than a trade up since at least 3 of the top tackles will likely be off the board in the first ten picks.

I would expect the Bills to look hard at any of the remaining LT prospects

The deal is number 28, the fourth round pick, and a low pick next year.
On a side note, Jason Smith was in Philly when the trade when down. Word has it that the Eagles dropped him off at the wrong gate at the airport and he wasn't too happy about it. Welcome to the NFL, rookie.

I guess a veteran tackle is worth more to them than a rookie. Makes sense. They get to keep 1 first round pick to play with.

Personally I think Peters is overrated and not THAT great. Which is why a late first rounder was the price.

this is good imo. the bills will likely take oher or andre smith at 11 meaning maybin/everette brown have a greater chance of falling to us. they'll probably take pettigrew at 28

I don't think Pettigrew makes it to 28. They would have to take him at 11 or trade up from 28 a little bit.

I think they take Oher at 11 because A. Smith is already off the board.

And then at 28 they take the top CB on the board or they take Alex Mack.

They need o line bad so I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this on the first day:

    11 - Oher
    28 - Mack
    42 - D.J. Moore

Here's my question - did the Bills get enough for their end of the deal ?
This is an established, PB OLT whos only 27 and there will probably be 4 OTs takin in this months Draft, none of whom will have proven they are without risk of being a bust in the NFL.

Peters has potential, but he only played up to it for one year. Now with the contract dispute maybe they thought that they needed to get something for him while they still could.

I'm pretty confident that Oher will be available at 11 and maybe they think he will ultimately be better.

Buffalo doesn't have a true GM, he's apparently more of a salary cap guru, so I have to wonder how well they negotiated and how many other teams showed interest. Peters was going to be traded this offseason, I didn't hear of any other team in the market for him.

A low pick for a young franchise tackle is a steal. Eagles always could run a draft board like nobody's business
