I would have preferred Tyrod Taylor over Weeden or Bortles.

Taylor was an UFA and counted against the comp formula. Bortles would not, as he was cut and technically a street FA.

I don't have any confidence in Bortles - he turns the ball over and fumbles. I would prefer Fitzpatrick over Bortles. But I wouldn't be surprised if we sign Bortles.

    You have confidence in Fitzpatrick?

    He's not last, so improvement.

I think he wants to hold y'all's hands.

A big fat NO on Ryan Fitzpatrick.. For one reason or another he always ends up starting for the team that signs him.

No. But I have even less in Bortles.

But we've seen Fitzpatrick after being 'coached up' by the current Texans staff and he sucked. Bortles deserves that opportunity?

Won't really matter who the backup QB is. If he doesn't have the escapability Watson has, this o-line will get him killed. Therefore we'll be pulling QBs out of deer stands if anything long term happens to DW4.

I think Texian would pee his pants if Bortles came to the Texans.

Maybe we could sign them both.

On that note, I wouldn't want Jared Goff, Russel Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Carson Wentz or Marcus Marriota backing up Watson. :kitten:

Would love to have Blake Bortles as a backup.

Don't want either of them just draft one in the late rounds or resign Webb.

Why, are we planning to send him to another team to sabotage them?

Bortles is an excellent idea for backup.

It's a way to make sure the entire city of Houston prays for a healthy Watson.
