I really hope that JJ is getting the message and has seen the fan reaction. Maybe he took the time to sit down and rationalize the team and his earlier statements. Especially after players like Moose and Aikman have pretty much discredited his statements about chemistry by saying it is necessary. By the one quote I'd wish Stephen would just step in

I don't think they have a choice. He is a cancer that will keep growing.

I see the team chemistry points, but man the financial implications are rough. He just signed a 4 year deal with a $12.9 mil signing bonus. They'd create $9.5 mil in dead money to cut him. I'd have a come to Jesus and some "constructive" sessions with Romo, Witten and Garrett and keep him for one more year unless his attitude was bad in those sessions.

If it was before last season I'd agree but I personally think he is in Romo's head and it made a guy who already made bad mistakes more mistake prone by forcing balls to the whining WR. I mean I actually think TO has a point here and there and I don't mind a guy with fire but he recruits people to his side and that is where is dangerous. It may just be worth it to take the hit and go with what you have.

Some fans hate him..some fans love him..on the Cowboys boards I frequent.

I'll believe they'll cut him when I see it...they would take a cap hit as Cak said..I am not sure financially they can afford to cut him.

And he gets along great with Jerry. I don't know about his relationship with Wade.

At some point Romo has to grow a set and learn to be a leader. I'm not sure it's in his personality makeup to assert himself over TO or anybody else really.

I personally don't think TO has ever been worth the trouble. I cut him some slack in the beginning naively I think now but today nope. He is the cause of alot of trouble.

They have NO chemistry. Dingy Deion said you don't need chemistry to have a good football team. I strongly disagree.

I say keep him. He's a jerk, but he doesn't get arrested, doesn't do drugs and is other wise a pretty good football player. He can't shut his freakin' yap...but other than that he's a worthy asset.

Supposedly Stephen Jones is the one pushing to release TO. He has great pull with dear ole Dad but I think in the end Jerry is just goofy enough to be willing to endure another bomb of a year with TO.

On the plus side of that statement that lets me know what kind of owner Stephen will be...the anti Jerry!

Let me preface this by saying that I hate the entire Cowboys organization. They're disgustingly overrated.

    Ok..now that that is out,

For Romo to develop into the type of QB that the Cowboys really need, the team must get rid of TO. He just doesn't know when to shut-up. I thought it was a mistake for Jones to award him with that new contract of that size at his age. I also thought it was a monumental mistake to pay Romeo that much money too. But, the guy needs a break. TO is in his head in the worst way. It shows. It wouldn't be a good business move, but it would make the most sense locker room wise.

I figured they wanted to get rid of TO when they went out and picked up Roy Williams and gave up what they gave up for him money and all.

We both know that Jerry won't do it. Not this year any way. He loves his precious TO. For some odd ball reason TO reminds him of Irvin and that is what many people don't seem to realize. As much of a puntz Irvin was, he was a team leader for the Cowboys and the opposite of what TO has been to this team. Irvin was respected in that locker room. TO is respected by some but even by many he is respected but also hated and disliked.

If the Cowboys got rid of TO, they would still have Austin, Hurd, Crayton, Witten, and Williams to throw to and would have Barber, Choice, and Jones to tote the rock. They could still have an electrifying offense easily. Without TO there, TO wouldn't be in his head on every play and he wouldn't have to hear the bitching after every down. Romo could settle down, relax and LET LOOSE. Romo is a great QB when comfortable. Another thing that effects the Cowboys is TO's constant bitching with Garrett to where they call plays they don't need to be calling just to appease him. It hurts their play calling methods. Garrett would be able to call better plays where Romo could spread the ball around a lot more, and every time Witten gets the ball thrown to him there won't be some conspiracy theory between Romo and TO.

None of this will happen though, because Jerry just doesn't get it. TO will be back, and he'll get more and more upset this year and once again the rest of the team will have to deal with it, because they all know that TO is loved by Jerry and won't cut him so they'll just try and ignore it, and then chemistry will be bad again and even worse.

Until TO is gone, the Cowboys won't go anywhere.

    Um..not so sure about that.

Jerry wanted Roy even going back 2 years ago.

Most fan boards I read are totally bummed on Roy and think it was a waste of draft picks. Jerry had a boatload to deal with so I guess we won't know for sure till next season and we see how they drafted and also how Roy plays.

Personally...as a fan...I know he has the skills but he wasn't very good.

I had read the same thing as Vinny...TO was getting up there in age and Roy was brought in to be the younger, new #1 while they phased out T.O. That was the thought for using the draft picks because they thought that the #1 would be equivalent to using it on a drafted top WR.

I heard that as well, but the key was phased out, not cut on a brand new contract.

Yeah but Roy Williams hasn't done jack in the NFL. He had one good season good season where he got like 1,300 yards and outside of that he hasn't even tapped 1,000 yards. He has been pretty much a bust when you consider the fact of where he was drafted. Any guy who gets drafted that high is supposed to be a stud on the level of AJ, Fitzgerald, or a guy like Calvin Johnson. It was so stupid at the time that Jerry did that, and he didn't even need to do that because they have other talented players that aren't far behind Roy Williams at all. This was a total Al Davis type of move.
