By that, I mean . . are you being patient enough to give him a chance to correct some of the things that were wrong about this team going in?

I know that's a loaded question, but IMO, it seems like some of you are bailing on him already.

I agree, this board seems to want instant results based on potential and that just aint gonna happen, it never does. let us not forget the errors in strategy and training kubiak is trying to reverse. I hope it's not like this during the season. heck some are ready to start rosenfells at QB and Winston at RT. Let kubiak do his thing, I've seen alot of positive effects allready and we havent even started the season. we have people praising mario one minute and calling him a bust the next. forget 4 years, forget everything that happend that made you mad about the texans and take this as a new begining, which hasn't really even begun. Im behind Kubiak 100%. It doesnt mean we all don't have a right to our oppinion. but we dont get paid to run the texans, Kubiak and his staff does. cheer on your team and give success a chance. It's gonna be a great ride if we don't get too impatient. thats my take anyway.

To those who are already wanting to jump ship, it is only preseason, and you can't expect miracles overnight.

Give him a chance? Sure. He's had virtually no time yet. It's a process to turn around a loser.

First, am I bailing out on him if I criticize David??

Second, we've seen some major turnarounds on nearly every aspect of our game........ both sides of the ball.

Our offensive line has only given up one sack... just one, all preseason. The Broncos were held to 107 yards on the ground.... mostly (I think) by their 4th guy in garbage time. We've had 2 games where our defense scored multiple sacks......

We won 2 out of 3 preseason games......... by pretty good margins. Maybe we spoil easy.

It should also be noted that Kubiak started Spencer, Weary, Daniels and Lundy. He easily could have started Wand, McKinney, Bruener or Putzier, and Morency. This may contribute to the offense being "out of sync", but it shows something else too. Kubiak does not lock into a group of starters and plunge in regardless of the outcome. He is still "checking his work" to see if he has the right combination out there. I like that.

For an example, I think the defensive line picked up once he shuffled the tackles by inserting TJ into the starting line-up. How many of us on the board would have done that? Not too many, I would think.

Not only am I not "giving up" on him, I think he is doing well.

Well, since you asked, yeah . . . in a way. I mean, you and everyone else knew going in what Carr's faults are, and it's been discussed ad nauseum as to why he got them, how he got them, and where he got them.

Do you actually think that he's going to wave some magic wand, and instantly convert Carr into a Brady or a Manning overnight? He probably will never be able to that, even if you are being patient enough to at least give Kubiak, Sherman, and the rest to mold him into a decent quarterback. It's something that's going to take time.

But I don't see the patience here. God! The season hasn't even started yet.:challenge

Carr's been sacked 3 times this pre-season. Two were definetly the lines fault. The other I'm not sure about. 3 times in 3 games isn't bad at all. Heck, I'd take a 16 sack season.:shades:

    ahh......

I'm not calling for his head.... I hope to never see Sage on the field again... unless our last game is meaningless, because we've clenched homefield advantage throughout, and Carr & the boys have blown the browns out in the first half.

If we are going to analyze the game, I think we should analyze the game.

Anyone can see that things are already much better than last year or the year before for that matter. I am concerned that some of us are probably expecting too much. I'd be happy if Kubes could match the 7-9 season of two years ago, but this years' schedule is tough, tough, tough. I honestly don't know what to expect.

I saw, once again, last night how just a few mistakes can turn a close game in the other teams' favor. Last night was winnable. I don't think Carr could see the heat coming from Lundy's right on that tip interception from where he was standing in the pocket. Wiegert got straight up beat on that sack. Owen Daniels hurt us with the offside call. Spencer had some mental miscues. There were several defensive line encroachment and procedural calls that hurt us as well. Carr made a couple of poor decisions with the football while under duress.

The bottom line is- this is preseason. It is all on film, and just about all of it is coachable. Sterling Sharpe said poor technique was what beat Wiegert on that sack, but I don't think any technique minus a hold would have helped in that situation. He got blown back so quick I don't think he knew what happened.

bah........ don't you "you people" me.....

Do you think it is impossible for Gary Kubiak to address the guys tomorrow morning, and with a straight face say, "I think we can win everygame"

I think it is possible for him to say it..... I believe it is more than probably that he believes it.

If he didn't, I don't want him here.
And even with all that, we still could've/should've won. We gave them a touchdown, and lost by 3.....

Hey man, I'm on your side! On any given Sunday...... That statement will hold more true for us this year than it ever has. I think broadcasters and other media types will be throwing the expansion tag out the window this year. However, you can show that kind of improvement and not make the playoffs or have a winning record.

This team will fight for 60 minutes every week this season. They will look sharper than in the past. They will do things (good and bad) that will have you screaming at the top of your lungs. There will be scenarios with five weeks before the postseason to get the Texans in the playoffs. In the end, isn't that all we need out of this season? I don't care what the record is this year as long as I can say to myself after every game, "they gave it all they had". A Capers coached team never put that much fire into a game. The defense beat the Cowboys four years ago because one of the 'boys offensive linemen was stupid enough to put them down on national television. Kubes has forgotten more about coaching than Capers will ever know.

    St. Louis--primarily Lundy
Denver 1st sack--primarily Carr not throwing it away
    Denver 2nd sack--Wiegert beat inside

I suspect that Kubiak is a long way from being on a hot seat. He is taking over the worst team in the league from a staff that pretty much made the room dumber by walking into it and chased off most of the veteran leadership or allowed them to slip off in free agency.

The upside is pretty obvious...whole new staff = new attitude. This years crop of draft picks are preforming very well and I suspect that we'll get 4-5 starters out of them. Kubiak and Co (otherwise known as Broncos South Inc) have all come from a top flight franchise that knows how to win. The advantage of Kubiak sweeping the Denver ranks for staff and players is that the amount of time to synchronize things is much shorter. Kubes will have a rough year in '06 but I bet '07 we will be contending for the playoffs.

I stand corrected. I suppose I should've said blocking in general rather than the line. My bad.

One thing I saw that he said shocked me. Its not every day you see a coach call his QB out. Not sure if this is "Throwing him under the bus" but its close.

Kubiak has at least four years to bring a winning record (and hopefully playoff games) in my book. He should get at least what Capers got.

People need to get a grip, especially just three games into Kubiak's first pre-season.
