ESPN reports Callahan has been fired!

    So Les to MI
Who KNOWS to A&M (I've heard 500 names)
and I actually haven't heard too many names for NEB, aside from Turner Gill.

    Is Weiss next? :)

I have heard Spurrier actually does have serious interest in the position at A&M.

That would be a great hire if we could land him, I just hope its not a ploy to get more $ from SC.

As someone who foolows ND more than anyone here, there is absolutely no chance Weis gets fired. Especially if the recruiting class stays as it is. Weiss will not make the same mistake he did his first two years at Notre Dame, by not playing the freshman and sophmores he put himself into this whole not to mention all the guys who have transferred were Ty's recruits so all he has left are the players he recruited or they are 1 and 2 on the depth chart.

Now of course they are not a powerhouse but I could see Wannstedt being fired at Pitt.

yeah let's think of some good reasons for Weiss to be fired.

2 BCS games in 3 years. that means lots of money.
3 high recruiting classes, with this year currently being #1 in the country.
having a QB finish with 2 Heisman-worthy seasons
having a poor season with tons of young players who seem to be getting better each week.

    etc.

You have valid points, but those were 2 BCS losses... (REALLY bad in 2006)

Yes they were but ND has not had the speed or talent on the field since Lou Holtz was there. Davie and Ty did nothing for recruiting.

That is very evident by the guys who have gone on to the next level.

BTW, I am not arguing he should be fired, I really don't follow ND (recruits, talent, etc.), I just cheer against them while I can. I was just wondering out loud.

I know it is all good ......... I follow OSU recruits to some degree because we recruit a lot of the same kids.

As far as cheering against them I expect that because of our relation of the area of the country. But as often as we play Michigan and Michigan Sate I thought you would cheer for us. :)

Well, yes, against Michigan. But you realize Notre Dame has "Yankees" statuts.

Maybe because you rejected the Big 10 :-P We're a scorned lover, lol.

But it is like a 3rd cousin twice removed nice to talk to and visit, but she is still your cousin and you would never marry her.
