Good for Mr. McNair. He invested a ton in this franchise and city. I'm glad he's seeing a return on his investment.

So the Cowboys are almost doubling the next closest team in operating income? Makes me want to throw up thinking about all the blind fools that love that team so much.

What's interesting is looking at the operating income as a percentage of revenue. The cowboys have almost a 50% profit margin where the rest of the league is around 30%. My assumption is that Jerry just jacks up the ticket prices as high as possible and the fans just pay it. The texans could do the same.

You're not really a fan if your love for your team isn't blind, IMO.

This is true, which is why I expect Houston ticket prices to increase every year at a rate faster than inflation.

Jerry is currently charging $75 for parking, and there are still some soccer teams raking in more money than him.

Heard on the radio that the Lions are the only NFL team losing money. It's not in the article, though

I don't agree with this, but to each his own. There are limits I have with every team I'm a fan of. My original comment was tongue in cheek though.

I remember last year reading the Bears were near bankrupt because of the horrible agreement with the city of Chicago?

Their stadium seats 63K. By comparison, Jerry gets at least 20K more tickets sold every game (with all the standing room only tickets, it's more than that). At $200 average price, that's $4MM per game, or $40MM per year, plus whatever else those extra 20K fans buy every game (food, merch). So, it's easily $50MM+ per year in revenue that Jerry has on anything Chicago can do. So, it wouldn't surprise me if they were losing money, too.

This LINK has a list of all the teams, and yes, the Lions are the only franchise with an operating loss last year.

For anybody who knows anything about Accounting, you know that there's income and then there's income. Just curious which kind of income these numbers represent, but I'd bet they sure didn't come off of the 1120/1120S ?

Most the teams are getting new revenue by making Texans Chick buy a new purse for the games. Those bastards!
