    In 2005, he was criticized by some after a 48-10 loss to TCU when he said Air Force didn't have enough "Afro-American" players, who he singled out for being able to run well. DeBerry was reprimanded by top brass at the academy and offered a public apology.

    We had a thread about this guy awhile back because of an unfortunate incidence of candor, he made the mistake of honestly saying his team was
    at a disadvantage sometimes when he had fewer A-A players on his squad than the competion.
    And I remember that a couple of our normally really sharp posters, in a moment of going PC brain-dead, piled on the coach for claiming no such inequality of racial abilities could possibly exist.

    speaking of TCU...always good NFL prospects on the frogs teams. DE won't come out but he looks like he's got the goods to me. Poor man's Gains Adams.

    Seriously though, I thought he got canned last year, so it did surprise me.
