Looks like Antwan Peek, who showed more pass rushing skill in his limited action than MW, is kicking ass as OLB with the Browns. I always thought this guy was misused here. He is even stuffing the run.

I have no confidence in our FO in making decisions concerning pass rushers.

I wish we still had him and shifted him to play the OLB spot.

He did play OLB for some of his career and he did seem explosive sometimes. I wish him the best because the browns will def. need it from him.

How dare you question the wisdom of the Front Office. Mario Williams will crush you, Comrade.
Peek is small man like housefly. He nothing like the destructive dominating power that is Mario Williams. Mario crush Peek like paper.
Never question the Front Office of the glorious Texans. You are a mere mortal.

OLB in a 3-4 isn't the same as an OLB in a 4-3. Peek has always been better suited to the 3-4 position.

oooh, Second Honeymoon has exposed the Texans front office as Communists...
    Way to go, Tailgunner Joe.

What's next? You gonna hold the FO accountable for the holocaust and accuse them of producing WMDs?

Peek spent more time with the trainer than his coach .

Peek is an athlete, he makes an impact and happens to suit OLB in a 3-4 pretty well, if your asking him to rush the passer.

However in his time with the Texans we learnt he also blows more plays than he makes, shows questionable football instincts, and lets his heart lead his head.

Like said above Peek is a 3-4 OLB, which is the reason we let him go.

Ask yourself this question.......Do the Texans still run the 3-4?.............. Now you know why he's not on this team, good job.

Ya know, sometimes people just need a change of scenery..Regardless of opinions, I am sure he tried his best here, and it did not work out for him. Like Carr, same thing, just after time, a fresh start is needed for them.

I wish every ex Texans player the best and may thier career take off. This is no reflection of the Texans or the player, just sometime, ya gotta know when to hold them, and know when to fold....

I know your daddy is no longer here for you to put everything on so now you are onto your next viamous target, despite facts. Because we all know that DE vs LB causes each other to not have a job. If you have a DE you do not need LB that is not suited for the schemes you run. Forget the notion that sometimes a player just does not work out and works out in a new location.

Oh and umm IT PRE-SEASON .... Let me know what he does during the reg season.

But yeah lets use something depicting USSR and opression and loss of free will to make a point very classy of you as usual.

wow. its called sarcasm. i was just having a laugh the same way that Lance Z did on SportsRadio610 last year. He used to affect a russian accent and say things similar to what I did as if he was a party hardliner from teh Politburo or Pravda regarding Mario's choice by the Texans. I thought some people would get a laugh and see where I was going....I understand that you live in Austin though Spec and probably never heard the hilarious bit he used to do but still...take it down a notch, bro.

omg some people REALLY need to take themselves a hell of a lot less seriously.....I am at a loss that my post would upset two seemingly intelligent people.

and what was that stuff about my daddy putting things on me? wtf was that about? back away from the computer and chill the freak out.

no, i didn't think you meant anything despicable or anything (no one is that sick on this forum) but I just didn't know what you meant by what you said?

on a positive note, I just found out what YKW means.

just a lil' taken aback that my attempt at levity was met with such hostility. Sometimes, I have to realize that not everyone knows what I was referring to and trying to capture.

people may not like me, but I like everyone on this server (except maybe Caddy sometimes). Were all just grasping at straws trying to get through the offseason and get past this Mario debacle that is currently going around. We all just go about it in our different ways.

I am happy for Peek and always liked his intensity and athleticism, his problem was his head because he lacked focus and discipline A LOT of the time.

I would like to see what it'd be like if the intensity and emotion of Peek was cast upon Mario. Good gravy, that would be one bad S.O.B.

I've always liked Peek. I liked the way he played the game at times. I do think he's in the right place and playing the position he's meant for now.

So I figure if David Carr threads will be brought back, so should Peek threads. At least we can see if we made a mistake in releasing Peek

He hasn't done a whole lot with the Browns. 15 tackles, 2.5 sacks. He started the first three games of the season but appears to have been benched since then. A lot of people liked him here in Houston, thinking he was a more natural fit at OLB (his position with the Browns now) rather than as a D-lineman, but he still hasn't done much.

You can find his game logs here:

    Yup.

Heck, I even saw a play where Peek and Robaire Smith converged on Roethlisberger and knocked him around pretty good. I had to do a double take when I heard their names called on the play by play.....
