    Houston, again.
At first blush, I thought this was dung, but Kieth over on HPF has some reasoning on it and it MAY actually have some legs.

I think what he's asking is...Whether this rumor is true or not....What do y'all think about Portis playing here?

Portis just signed a huge contract a few years ago. I can't see Washington taking a big cap hit to get rid of him. Especially with Joe Gibbs' heavy run offense.

You think the Redskins care about the cap?

They need to have some money to sign huge free agents to complex contracts. Taking a big cap hit would prevent that from happening.

    Houston of course!!!!
Why not trade Clinton Portis for our 8th round pick? It would be a wise choice in my opinion as long as he passes the physical test thingie. we could drop Dominick and trade Wali for an offensive lineman.

Welcome to the board, but the draft only consists of 7 rounds.

They're getting ready to dump Adam Archuleta, one of their top free agent signings, only a year after signing him. I'm sure they could get rid of Portis as well.

Yep, Adam is the same type of Safety as Sean Taylor, and well, that can't work.

This is a reason why they will not cut Portis. They only have a year or two more out of Joe Gibbs and they don't want to rebuild with him at the helm.

Cut? No way in hell. If they trade Portis, they won't be too bad with Betts as the starter and could benefit from extra draft picks.

Isn't Betts a FA this offseason?
