David Quissenberry OL sjsu
best OL 20 yard shuttle time in the combine
8. DAVID QUESSENBERRY | San Jose State 6047|302 lbs|5SR Carlsbad, CA (La Costa Canyon HS) 8/24/1990 (age 22) #76
2012: (12/12) (LT) PROJECTION: 3rd Round
2011: (12/12) (LT) MEASUREABLES: 6047 | 302 | 34 3-8 | 10 5-8" | 81
2010: (13/13) (LT) COMBINE: 5.06 40-YD DASH | 1.73 10-YD | 25 REPS | 29.5 V | 9-4 BJ | 7.49 3C | 4.45 SS
2009: (12/0) (OT)
STRENGTHS: Athletic frame with adequate build and length
smooth kickslide with good lateral quickness in his shuffle
stays light in his movements to mirror
nice job getting out in space and blocking at the second level
squares his frame at the POA, sinking his hips extending his limbs
plays with an attitude and nasty mean streak
good awareness and always looking for someone to hit
proudly wore the C on his jersey
skill-set to kick inside to OG or OC if needed, can also long snap.
WEAKNESSES: Not overpowering and lacks the strength to eliminate defenders from the play
lean lower body
needs to do a better job using his length to keep rushers away from his body
needs to stay patient in his stance, getting in trouble lunging and ending up on the ground
bad habit of leaving his feet and missing his target
room to improve his footwork and play with better lower body flexibility
missed time in 2012 due to an ankle injury
how much more weight can he add?
SUMMARY: At just 235 pounds out of HS, was recruited as a TE/OT and has done a nice job adding nearly 70 pounds the past five years on campus
three-year starter with 37 career starts under his belt, all at LT
athletic frame with enough foot quickness to hold up in space with natural body control
needs to strengthen his lower half and do a better job using his length and punch
offers position versatility to fight for a starting OT job in the NFL while giving his team depth inside at OG and OC.
Just an excellent pick.
This could actually be Wade Smith's replacement if Brooks stays on the right side.
Very good value for the 6th round. I'm happy with this pick.
He had a good senior bowl week also .
TRADE DETAILS: Raiders trade No. 176 to Texas for picks No. 184 and No. 233
Tbh I like him as a RT. I like his pass protection a lot.
But whatever, I just think he's a good player to have and develop. He definitely has starter potential.
Just throwing out options. Quessenberry could play any of the positions except C along the line.
A long snapper. This move makes alot of sense now
Senior Bowl one on ones, Q starts off handling Margus Hunt:
Ducks his head later on to get beat, but looks pretty good overall.
He can play C too.
Great pick - Quiz at RG and Williams at RT. Both will challenge to start.
If things go south I think he can fill as rt but i've got him pegged as wade smiths replacement.
Newton vs B williams
Brooks vs jones
Smith > quessenberry
Jones and Q have the flexibility to fill at center if necessary. Lot of maneuverability here in the ol. Solid pick.
A steal this late. I had him going much higher than the 6th round.
There will be stiff competition for the starting RT spot.
And Brooks could go over to LG.
Exactly. Great fit and value. I thought he would have been long gone by now.
Reminds me of Logan Mankins who kicked inside from LT to become a pro bowl LG.
