This team has been horrible at converting 3rd downs since its inception and today was no different-radio said it was less than 30%-today. Moulds talked in his post game interview about all the 3 and outs in the second half. A previous thread mentioned several positive stats from the pre-season, but 3rd down conversions was not one of them--fact is, we had a worse percentage this pre-season than in '05. Today, we called a running play on 3rd and 11. IMO, it's going to be a long year if this problem continues. We often criticized the Capers regime for its failure to make 'effective' half time adjustments and we saw this continue today in a lot of areas, not just 3rd down conversions.
