K. Bibbs is a similar type of player for the Redskins
and according to Gruden Thompson still might play. So either way you need someone who can prepare you for what those guys can do, which is where Ferguson comes in
Who can be confident in Foreman after an achilles? That’s such a nasty/seriously taxing injury.
The Texans have signed OT David Steinmetz to the PS. They have cut CB Andre Chachere from the PS to make room.z
Steinmetz is a mountain at 6'8" 321. During Purdue’s pro day, Steinmetz recorded a 115-inch broad jump, which would have been the second-best for a lineman at the Combine. He also posted a 33-inch vertical leap. That would have been the fourth-best result for a lineman at the Combine. His main criticism is rawness with footwork that has limited him with lateral movement. He essentially played RT 5 years in college without significant injury. He appears to be an intriguing developmental RT.
If he's not ready yet, he'll end up being a starter in no time on our 0-line.
At least FO is active in trying to keep this team winning. I was expecting a move in this direction.
Steinmetz, while raw, is at least experienced at tackle.
Hopefully he can be a plug and play guy - we need help on that line.
any info on his blocking strength, core and anchor? Set him up next to Lamm then Watson can drift that way if needed away from the left opponent.
He's reported to be strong at the point and controls defenders once engaged. But he still has problems with leverage. And his lack of good footwork as I mentioned earlier sets up for poor lateral movement. These seem to be problems that can be coached up given some time.
I'm intrigued. I'll have to go look at some video of him. I'd imagine 6'8" would present a challenge in maintaining leverage especially when Edge rusher want to dip & turn the corner.
But wow... 6'8" 321
UPDATE: The #Texans have activated RB D'Onta Foreman off the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.
The Houston Texans waived the following player from the active roster: Natrell Jamerson, CB
I liked the Jamerson signing, although I haven't noticed him much specifically on ST.. my main concern with activating Foreman was having to cut a solid ST contributor, since the unit has been performing so well
Anyone have any notes on Jamerson's ST play? TIA
Most interesting to note is that Buddy Howell is still on roster as a pure ST. Listed as RB but has not had a single carry this season. They value his ST production.
Texans have place Scarlett on IR and signed Roderick Johnson off the PS.
I think Doc said this elsewhere, but a real hit on special teams. Dude was a baller and getting us turnovers on ST and defense
Redskins nab Kyle fuller of practice squad
You can add OLB Daeshon Hall to the PS poaching by the Eagles..
The Texans have activated the 21-day practice window for our CB Kayvon Webster to return from the Reserve/Injured list.
We have signed WR Amba Etta-Tawo (#12), ILB Kennan Gilchrist (#47) and G Maurquice Shakir (#77) to the PS.
Separate names with a comma.
