I was especially happy for Cris Carter to finally get his due -- and he was humbled,

"This is the happiest day of my life."

4th in career receptions, 9th in yards, 4th in TDs ..... should not have taken 6 years, imo.

Bill Parcells, the "Big Tuna", had a 183-138-1 record as a coach with the Giants, the Patriots, the Jets and the Cowboys taking each into the playoffs. Parcells won 2 Super Bowls with the Giants and lost one with the Patriots. He was voted Coach of the Year in 1986 & 1994.

Parcells was most known for his mild-mannered, easy going personality.

But like Carter said himself, not one player voted in ahead of him was undeserving. The limits on 5 players voted in per year can create a backlog.

I didn't realize that Carter finally made it - he was a great NFL WR, he's deserving, and congrats to him.

Larry Allen.
“You can’t pack enough lunch and hard hats to go with you for four quarters,” Warren Sapp said after taking the stage with Larry Allen.
“This guy scared people,” HOF inductee Jonathan Ogden said of Allen. “I don’t know if I scared people on the field. I mean, they weren’t going to get by me, and I intimidated them.

“But I’ve seen 3-techniques [defensive linemen] physically develop cramps because they didn’t want this guy on them.”

If Cris Carter can get in, Andre is a shoe in.

Cris Carter 4 pro-bowls, 1 all pro (plus 1 2nd team all pro)

AJ has played in 11 less games.

Maybe we should see what the numbers look like after another six seasons.

Fingers crossed we get 6 more out of A.J.

Sure fingers crossed. But just for perspective, if AJ produced like Cris Carter (which would be a giant step down) for the next 6 seasons he would be #2 on the receiving yards list by almost 1000 yds. If he gets one more 1500 yd season he will be tied with GOAT Rice as the only WR's to have done so 4 times (and Rice had two scinchers (one by 2 yards and one by 3) which isn't true of AJ).

Chris Carter and Bill Parcells I agree with. Warren Sapp (and feel free to quote me on this one): "...Meh."

I pretty much thought the same thing.

He was on that Tampa Bay team built by Dungee that went to the Superbowl with Gruden "in charge" and had a few games versus Dog-boy (Michael Vick) where he utterly embarrassed the man, but on the whole he was GOOD but not GREAT.

Because Simeon Rice was on the other side of the NT. By himself...meh.
Rice was a DE. He went to 3 Pro Bowls. Sapp went to 7. Sapp had nearly as many sacks as Rice but was an interior player as Rice was an edge rusher. Sapp is the Bucs career sack leader...not Rice.

I agree Sapp deserves it. But I think Charles Haley does as well so what do I know.

Haley should be a no-brainer pick...but I think the sportswriters conspire to keep him out since he was a jerk to them....and a bit of a weirdo. Scary weirdo. I agree that Haley not being in the HOF is a joke.

Who was the Bucs NT? Booger McFarland?

Then Rice went to Arizona right? Where he played DT?

Sorry..... got it all wrong, just checked on wiki.

He was drafted by the Cardinals, then went to Tampa. Too small to play DT, don't know why I thought he was an interior player.

I always felt Derrick Brooks and Ronde Barber were the best players on that defense. Never ever felt Sapp was a hall of famer. I never felt strongly that Cris Carter was either. Ys he had good stats, but never elevated his team IMO. He did give Chris Berman and Tom Jackson a hell of a schtick.
