2009 texans vs 2010 texans

since02

"Step 1"
In 2009 the Houston Texans only got shut out once, in the season openor. The Jets dominated the Texans on all sides of the football and completely embarrased us to begin the season. BUT

immediatelly after that the team began to play with more tenacity they began to show a urge to win games. Not any other game during the 2009 season did we ever get blown out, they were all close within a touchdown or so. Always within reach. The defence stepped up and started playing playoff caliber defense after week 3. Yeah there was a 4 game skid but those games were all lost by a small margin.

This 2010 team just doesnt seem to click. The Colts game was all due to hype and the colts weak rush defense. The players came out ready to play and that is exactly what they did. The Redskins game was all due to luck we all can agree we are lucky he missed that second field goal. Then the Raiders game were I was acctually unhappy with that W. The Texans let them back in the game and did not prove to be a powerhouse team the NFL and us fans think them to be. Last season 29-6 this year we let them in within a touchdown. Two blowouts is unexcusable especially at home in front of a sell out crowd. It seems when expectations are high for the Texans they find new ways to lay an egg.

If the Texans management does not see the need for change and continues to let this squad play. We will NOT see the playoffs this year and I am worried that many Houston fans will have enough of this, and we will become another Jacksonville Jaguars team of the NFL. Blackouts here we come....

What do you guys think? Which team is better? 2009 vs 2010

2009 was a better more organized team but injuries, suspensions and rookies have hurt us badly this year.

We still got a lot of football left but we have to regroup.

2009 Texans - Gave up 218 yards per game through the air, 83 QB rating
2010 Texans - Giving up 330 yards per game through the air, 104 QB rating

Last year we were always in games because our passing game was the best in the league enabling us to score whenever. This year our passing game has not been very good to say the least, even with a dynamic rushing attacking.

This team is the same team as the 2009 team. It's just that the out of confrence games are against the NFC east and the Jets,San Diego Balt. Instead of the Rams,Sea. and San Fran.

In short the great fans of the Houston Texans appear to have been sold a bill of goods again this year.

I don't know how anyone can say that with the emergence of Arian Foster.

Sure, we're coming off a tough loss, nay, tough beat down. But let's not say ignorant things.

sorry guys my spelling isnt up to your standards....

He was actually saying your spelling was fine, therefore you probably weren't SIAB. It's your punctuation and grammar that are what DexmanC was probably originally referring to.

They won't do anything this season regarding acquiring help for our defense. They are staying their course.

Exactly, except we have Arian Foster and DR has been replaced with KJ. One plus, one minus (because of inexperience).

Meh, basically the same team. The running game's better, but the passing D is worse. The 2010 schedule is much tougher and with their typical inconsistent play, I'm not sure we can even meet last years record.

It's a guessing game with this team. Will we get the chocolate egg with the creamy caramel? Or will we get the one with fresh dog ****?

Well, Kubiak built this team and there were ways for him to prepare this team to win that game Sunday. He didn't even come close to getting it done. They have the talent to beat the Giants. The offense was not emotionally prepared and the D was not prepared scheme-wise.

All things considered, last year after 5 games, we were 2-3. This year, after 5 games, we are 3-2 with a half game lead over the former division champs.

Our running game will cut down the numbers on the passing attack. We knew that coming in. Problem is Matt Schaub has to throw 800 times to get warmed up and focused, we got injuries to our main WR, and our OL is barely being figured out combination wise.

Defensively we gave up the same yards on the ground last year that we we're giving up in the air this year. Problem is no pass rush and a rookie that is literally the toast of the town.

2009- Knew what had to be done. Passing offense took hold and propelled Schaub into a probowl. AJ beasted. OD half beasted. KW and the average guys outperformed their highest expectations....

Defense stepped up when it had to. Nothing was great but nothing was OH MY GOD bad either.

2010- Offense seems more balanced and somehow LESS deadly. Like the emergence of a stud RB has somehow taken away their ability to pass or even to get a WR open once or twice a game. Schaub seems like he's regressed as well, throwing balls inaccurately and picks where he's the only one in the stadium not aware of what's about to happen. IDK what to tell you about that. That sucks.

Defense- doesn't look like a pro defense. Hell, they barely play as a cohesive unit. Amobi Okoye is damn near as ineffective as Cody, the fact that Mitchell gets into games and actually appears in the offensive backfield will attest to that. Unless Mario or Smith gets pressure NOBODY gets pressure (to be fair, Cushing put the heat on in his first game back but the production wasn't there). Demeco looks slow although he's about as sure of a tackler as this team has. Diles...geez wasn't he about to make a probowl? Fuhgettabattit!! Why Wilson is still getting reps, IDK, I mean they aren't putting me on the field so....why him? The kiddie corners have ZERO veterans and a no name DB coach, with ZERO help over the top from the safeties. And a weak nut having DC. Yikes deluxe.

Every year under Kubiak, one component of the team goes UP, and another
component of the team goes DOWN by equal values. Plus three minus three
equals MEDIOCRE. This is the year-FIVE of this regime, and midnight
is slowly approaching for Cinderella.
