There's a 1970 intro there, too.
man, they look cold
how come Minny built a dome, but GB still plays in the weather?
I would think it would benefit the home team in that climate, but maybe the fans let it be known they had had enough of their behinds sticking to the frozen seats.
That was the Hail Mary game.
Oh, the memories. mmmmmmmm Phyllis George.
I recall that Fran Tarkenton's dad died while watching the game that day and Armen Terzian became a household name for a week or so.... I still have that SI.
Most people who were around then forget about the other missed call that allowed the Hail Mary to happen. Preston Pearson caught a ball clearly out of bounds a play or two before on a 3rd or th and long but the official ruled it a catch. Vikings fans were incensed and then with the questionable no-call on Pearson it turned ugly with all kinds of things coming out of the stands in the southeast corner of the endzone - including the schapps bottle that connected with Terzain's head.
I wish the NFLN saw this thread. I'd love to see that game as it was shown then.
I'm pretty sure that was the year the Cowboys became the first wild card team to make it to a SB and that was the SB where Swann made one of his signature catches - the falling down juggle.
You're probably right. I'm almost certain of it. Had a hard time picking a team that year. I did enjoy those catches, though. Swann's knee using Charlie Waters' (?) gut as a cusion...lol.
