    D.D. Lewis

When you try to wiggle through the other guy's O-Line and get nicked up, it's a niggle. For an example of a niggle, take a look at my Avatar.

    Mario or Reggie

Carr had his contract in place for a lot of bucks and the faith of the FO, no way were they going to pick up Young. DD/DW looked probable to be the starting RB. The D-Line just wasn't getting it done the year before. The projected talent level among VY, Reggie, and Mario was fairly close...

    Happy Birthday Earl!!

Best wishes Earl, you truely were the one that made me a Houston Fan for life. BTW, Got one more season in ya? :yahoo:

    Kiper likes Schaub over Romo

A little off subject but... Did anyone else get visions of the movie North Dallas Fourty (with Nick Nolte) when Romo fumbled the snap?

    My Texans Dream Team

GEEZE! I CAN'T believe you forgot to add The Earl of Campbell to that list!! I enjoyed the old Oiler days: QB hands off to Earl. 7 defenders pile on Earl in the backfield. The pile gains 12 yards. :dance2:

ESPN Poll: Is Schaub The Right Man For The Texans?

Maybe the general NFL fan base knows more about Capers/Casserly than I thought! While Carr never developed the way I hoped he would, I lay more blame on the former administration for making way too many bad decisions. One that comes to mind is letting Sharper and Glenn get away with the idea...

    Kiper likes Schaub over Romo

Schaub's stats are influenced by some Hail Mary passes that were intercepted. What excites me from what I have seen so far his leadership skills are far better than He Who Must Not Be Named. (Hey, put his name on here and it turns into one of THOSE threads.) With his passing mechanics and...

    My Texans Dream Team

If Spencer is not going to be back, try for Levi Brown. Fix the damn O-Line once and for all. If Levi is gone, go for secondary help, Landy, etc. In the thrid round look for a Center or WR Fourth round on, look for more secondary help, WR, or Center Yeah, I skipped RB's, but if the...

    What would you do if...

Polite applause when he is introduced. During the game, I would hope I am so busy cheering on the Defense, I wouldn't have time to boo him.

Expectations of Mario Williams in 2007

I expect him to earn a new nickname: The Great Disruptor I really think if he stays healthy we will see him in the other guy's backfield a bunch, and chasing more plays down from behind. Mario may not log them, but I think sack totals will rise dramatically.

Vonta Leach Signs Giants Offer Sheet - Texans Match

Good job FO. Now fix the secondary!

    Matt Schaub 2007 expectations

Better decision making, especially under pressure. More respect from teammates. Better reads to find the open receivers, I expect the ball will get spread around a lot more this year. Most of all, consistancy.

Matt Schaub has his # and it is ....

Hmmmmm..... 7 for college 8 for pro backup 9 for probowler?

    AFC South Division outlook

I have to go along with too early to predict. Tenn is in a good position to improve the most, with Houston not too far behind. Jax may have some improvement, and Indy may be in trouble with the folks they are losing. So I will make this prediction, the AFC South is going to be really tight...

This is what we got for Carr.

Didn't we get DeMeco in the second? Basically, we got a first round pick as if we won a game or two more last year, and traded 2 second rounds for Schaub.

    Front Office Discussion

As far as the Carr contract, I think McNair took the blame in a subtle way at the Schaub presser. A big part of living is dealing with your mistakes and moving on, looks like that's what they are doing. What I am having a problem with is trying to guess their thinking on the draft. They...

    Carr and Domanick Williams Released

Not much of a surprise on either of them. DD/DW is no surprise to me at all after I talked to a few medical professionals I know. Bone on bone just doesn't heal to the point where you can put the kind of strain on it that the NFL demands. Put yourself in a GM's spot and looking for QB's...

Vonta Leach Signs Giants Offer Sheet - Texans Match

Your run of the mill FB is a decent blocker. Leach appears to be a good blocker, runner, and short pass receiver. As such, the opposing defense has to account for him as a ball carrier. I think you really have to give him a hard look before you let him get away.

    Please Help The Raider Fan

OK...I'll take a shot at it: Plenty of raw talent, good arm and good mobility. Class guy definately not into the "bad boy" thing. Willing to spend the extra time in the weight and film rooms. Seems to be the type that would rather lead by example rather than being very vocal. Started his...

...the message is clear: Schaub wasn’t going to take them there.

I can't say I see this as a band-aid move either. The players we got that are 30+ years old (Green, etc.) will see us through another couple of seasons if need be, but Schaub is 27 if I am not mistaken, and not beat up from his 3 years in the NFL. Assuming he pans out, he could be the QB for...
