So much for all the talk about how the Texans are pretenders because they really have not played anyone yet. If Baltimore is not a quality opponent, the who is?
The Texans are the real deal.
A number of folks around here seemed ready to break out the pink soaps after the Texans disappointing loss on Monday Night to the Packers.
To whom in may concern, time to stow those pink soaps away again. After a 6-1 start and a huge win over the Ravens, there will be no reason to get them out...
Nevertheless, if you had to pick a point spread that forced people to a point of uncertainty and indecision about which way to go, what would it be? Seven points does it for me. I picked the Texans, but truth be told, that looks like an awful lot of points against a tough opponent. Would you...
If you look today, the spread appears to have widened, on the average, from about 6.5 points to about 7 points.
And while I theoretically like the idea of public polls also, especially for something like this, my experience has been that substantially fewer people tend to participate when you...
The Texans are 6.5 point favorites against the Ravens at Reliant on Sunday.

Will the Texans not only win, but cover the spread? Personally, I believe they will.
What do you think?
The first half played by Texas might just be the worst collective effort by a football team that I have ever seen at any level. The second half was atrocious as well. This was a complete meltdown by the Texas Longhorns, especially following a nice win against Oklahoma State, and a competitive...
Sandusky is 68 years old and will serve a minimum of 30 years. He could potentially be eligible for release when he is 98.
And of course if they ever put him into the general population, his projected longevity will fall rapidly. From what I understand, convicted felons do not like serving...
And now five games into the season, Watt is leading the NFL in sacks as a 3-4 DE, with stats that any 4-3 DE would be proud of, while Williams, a 4-3 DE, has stats that most 3-4 DE's would be disappointed with. Go figure.
Skipping our meds today, are we?
By the way, J.J. Watt is a 3-4 DE and Mario Williams is a 4-3 DE. Neither of them is an OLB, so there is no point in making that comparison.
A third or fourth rounder would probably do it. Cushing will return.
In the first I would love to see a really good nose tackle. Not that our current guys are terrible at that spot, but the Texans really have no glaring weaknesses at this point that demand a first round pick, and the NT...
Sacks - Season to date (through Week 5)
J.J. Watt___- 8.5 (Leads the NFL)
M. Williams-- 1.5
J.J. added 1 more sack today, per ESPN. Mario Williams did not register any sacks, but he did have one tackle.
West Virginia jumps to #5, Texas falls to #15:

That looks about right.
Next Saturday, #5 WVU faces off against #6 Kansas State. Both teams are undefeated. That should be a good one.
Meanwhile, #15 Texas faces off against #13 Oklahoma in Dallas...
To be fair, West Virginia did win the game in Austin. We do have to give the Miners some credit. This was a big win for them. And Texas did not look all that great on the defensive side of the ball.
These are both very good college football teams. But this year, WVU is better. They proved it...
