That'll work out well for Tampa. No doubt they're relieved to finally be able to replace the lost locker room character of Aqib Talib with someone of equal eloquence, charm, and intelligence.
I think it was a joke that'll fire up the Bucs faithful with a lot of "hurr hurr" humor from people who would have bought his jersey and defended his every transgression anyway. So no impact there.
Conversely, it will fire up all those who are obsessive haters of the Tampa Bay football...
Would it save time if for Clowney's injury report they just released a picture of the guy from the old "Operation" board game, with one or five arrows pointing to the afflictions du jour?
No shrimp and grits out here in Singapore, which is probably why I salivated looking at that picture. This is a fantastic eating city, though, and the food centre guys here could do some hellacious tailgating if they ever had a place to do it.
Once a year around Cinco de Mayo we host a big...
As your hometown newspaper notes here, that's not entirely accurate. You really don't think the guy's employer, the Ravens franchise, was just utterly weak and without the ability to gather any info on their own? Every franchise has a security team. Every franchise conducts background checks...
Disagree. If I were arrested on a domestic violence charge I would be fired. My company wouldn't suggest anger management; They would delete my building access codes and mail my last check. And good for them. I work for a public organization that depends on public support and we're rightly held...
True. I wouldn't want that job either. I'd just go to Buddy Ryan mode and refer to everyone by their number.
And then slug the offensive coordinator. Oh wait. There isn't one.
"I like the intention he plays with," said Spencer Tillman after the pick.
One more reason to be glad preseason is over. The annual total eclipse of the thesaurus is almost done.
Vince Young is officially retired. Well, sort of officially. Unless he isn't.
"I'm retired," Young told NFL.com. "Unless we get a great opportunity, something guaranteed ... I've already started moving forward. ... It's definitely official, I think, in my book."
I wish the guy the best of luck but I think it might be wise for him to take a year off, get some rest to ensure good health, and let the 14-loss streak fade from memory a little.
But mostly I'm just loving reading about Kubiak in the NFL forum instead of in Texans threads.
Wasn't this how it went with Kubiak too, when Dan Reeves was the consultant? Pretext of interviewing other candidates while the primary guy never really was in doubt?
This seems more familiar to me than it does out of character. Not saying it is good or bad.
Regardless of what I think of the...
There are going to be a lot of NFL head coaching jobs up for grabs this offseason. I'm glad Houston is getting a head start in the race for good candidates, but I'm also concerned about this team getting used by a candidate to bid up their own value on the market with so many open jobs.
So...
Off-topic slightly, but this quote in the article just seemed so unbelievable to me when I read it. If it were true that 70 percent of every roster in the NFL was bankrupt, disabled, divorced, AND a substance abuser, you can bet we would all know that by now.
Sure enough, the NFL says it is...
